September 6, 200917 yr Usually this would be way too early to discuss this type of thing. However, it looks like Bradford is going to be out of action for a while and that is going to put a big time hurt on his odds to repeat. So who steps up and adds their name to the race after the first week?
September 6, 200917 yr Well of course Tebow and McCoy likely lead the list. Jahvid Best at California could be near the top. Jimmy Clausen had a good start and any time Notre Dame is winning, their QB can be mentioned.
September 6, 200917 yr Max Hall put himself in the top 5 IMO and Clausen propelled himself into the conversation, one thing to remember is that Nevada has one of the worst pass defenses in NCAA history. Let's see what he does against Michigan next week and then ask.
September 6, 200917 yr Should Griffin from Baylor be in the running? I believe so. He is Baylor football.
September 7, 200917 yr I think Clausen wins it barring an absolute meltdown against USC Oct. 17th. That pattycake schedule Weis made to save his job, the talent at WR and TE, along with his experience should all come together for a very successful season for him.

September 7, 200917 yr Jimmy Clausen lookded good but pretty much anyone could put it up to Rudolph, Tate, and ecspecially Floyd.

Jimmy Clausen had a good start and any time Notre Dame is winning, their QB can be mentioned. I think he has the best shot outside of Tebow and McCoy. He is an absolute stud. The guy is extremly fast. My one question is what is Noel Divine doin to not get a mention. The guy should be tearing it up playing in the Big East.
September 7, 200917 yr Tebow is going to be hard to beat IMO. McCoy should stay in the mix. Way to early IMO. Cobb is one of the better players in the nation but I don't think he'll be in the race. There are so many good performances but I don't know how you turn a blind eye to BYU's QB throwing for 329 yds 2 TD's and 0 Int's vs Okl with 4 new offensive linemen! The program that lost that I think we should keep an eye on the next couple of years is Washington. Sarkisian will get the recruits in there and it is 1 of the two toughest places to play in football I think. The cameras were shaking bad when Wash was up on LSU.

That pattycake schedule Weis made to save his job, the talent at WR and TE, along with his experience should all come together for a very successful season for him. The schedule is made up about 3-4 years in advance. He brought all that talent in. Lets see how the season plays out for the Irish. I look for a great game with USC in October. One thing I never understood is when they play at USC, its usually the last game of the regular season and when USC comes to South Bend its alot sooner. I would try to use the weather as a factor.
September 7, 200917 yr Jimmy Clausen lookded good but pretty much anyone could put it up to Rudolph, Tate, and ecspecially Floyd. My thoughts exactly, just don't forget about Allen coming out of the backfield. He also looked like a different runner on Saturday as well.
