Highlands frosh vs Ryle frosh will be a game.

It will be a tough decision at quarterback next year between McCoy and Towles. Two strong armed quarterbacks with good size and neither will be a senior.

 

I don't think it will but you never know??? Patrick Towles has improved a lot over last year and last year he really didn't get the opportunity to play the QB position. I think it is silly to talk about this considering it's early in the season and playing freshmen vs JV or Varsity is a big step.

I really like McCoy so don't get me wrong but Towles will be the QB next year if he keeps working hard.

I have a good question. Who's to say McCoy doesn't move and play some JV. They did it last year with Carter New. What would be the difference. I think maybe bringing McCoy up to do some mop up duty behind Towles would only help this kid adjust to the speed of the game. There were many times last year that Carter New would play on Thursday night and then again on Sat.

This is the first report I have heard on the St.X freshmen and it sounds encouraging. Great job Tigers.

Carter got the JV playing time when both Austin Abner and Ty Seidl were hurt. It was a good experience, however I don't know if he would have were it not for the injuries. I would also think that Carter would get some snaps at QB this year as well. We'll see what happens the rest of the year.

I've only seen Towles in the Male scrimmage and a couple series from the Ryle JV game, but I'm very impressed. The kids throws on the run extremely well, has good poise, and let's face it, at almost 6'4" he must be able to see the field well!

That's him. A great kid. He should be cleared to play this Thursday against Boone Cty.

I wasn't at this game but saw the freddies scrimmage Male and came away quite impressed. If there is a frosh team in NKY that can hang with them I would be very surprised. I was most impressed with the qb McCoy. This kid looks to have a nice future wearing the blue and white..:ylsuper:

Me too. I have seen many Freshman QB's come through the system and this kid hands down to me the most calm and collective player at that position that I have seen. He is smooth and has a pretty good arm!!!! It is going to fun watching this kid play the next 4 years. Then after that you will have Beau Hoge who has been working with Jared Lorenzen a couple nights a week coming through. It is going to be a fun ride!!!!
