UKCATSFAN Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Pat Forde never ceases to amaze me with his commits. He basically bashed every UK in the country with his comments. He said that a small group of UK fans are concerned but the vast majority of us don't care about integrity and don't care how we win as long as we just win. While I'm sure there are a few fans like that, to stereotype all of us to that extent in just offensive to me. Forde to me should be the exact opposite of what he truely is. Just last week, Forde was protecting Pitino on air and now he bashes UK fans and Calipari for something that isn't near as bad as what Pitino did.
Trojans Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I don't understand Forde. What does he want us to do? Renounce Kentucky basketball? Say we want Caliperi out of there and bring Billy Clyde back? Most fans want to win. Most fans will support and defend their coach. Most fans would rather have John Wall and Demarcas Cousins rather than Sheray Thomas and Michael Porter (no offense). I mean if Kelvin Sampson was our coach I might be concerned. As a UK fan I admit I always thought Caliperi may not be the most squeky clean coach in the nation but I cheer for the team and I think we will be okay.

Since this is a sports site I'm speaking clearly about the athletic department. But I wouldn't be so confident about making that statement. With that being said, I don't like Forde, and am happy to have Calipari.

If you are going to talk about integrity Pitino did not display that in one situation that we know of. I am not nieve enough to say I believe 100% that Calipari is squeaky clean. But what has he done wrong? The only thing I know of is letting Derrick Rose's brother travel for free. Calipari has never been in any trouble. Until he does I don't know why Forde is attacking UK fans over supporting Calipari. Its almost comical.

I can't understand why he's speaking for UK fans as a whole. What? Did he go door to door and ask every UK fan their thoughts about this all during 1 morning? He's a complete joke if you ask me. His bias for Louisville is so obvious that it is comical. His integrity and credibility went flying out the window over the past couple of weeks. He goes on ESPN and defends Pitino enthusiastically and then bashes UK fans and Cal just as enthusiastically when IMO( and I'd say many others) what Pitino did is 10x worse than whats happening to Calipari. I can't even say "what Calipari did" because he didn't do anything. The NCAA didn't do their job and cleared Rose to play at Memphis. But anyway, it's a joke. Forde completely contradicted himself and showed that he reports from his heart and not his brain. It scares me that ESPN turns to him everytime there is a story about UK or UL.

The only thing is that he has pretty consistently painted all UK fans with the same brush. And you cannot do this with any fan base without unfairly lumping some in with the lunatic fringe. But to him, all UK fans are on the lunatic fringe.

Like it or not playing an ineligible player CAN lead to sanctions from the NCAA. At least right now being unfaithful to your wife and paying for abortions will not lead to NCAA sanctions.

I don't understand why he is being critical of UK fans concerning the subject of integrity concerning UK's coach when that is an issue UL's coach and he takes up for him.
