State may pay in handling of Gillispie firing

Featured Replies

That's EXACTLY what the State of Kentucky's tax money should be spent on... :rolleyes:

If UK has enough money to pay the likes of John Calipari, they have enough money to pay off Gillispie... What a joke.

I like that comment about finding out which representatives vote yes on this. I'd like to eject any one of them immediately. UK absolutely should foot the bill, not taxpayers.

Come on guys, United we Stand, Divided we Fall. :lol:

The majority of UK basketball fans would've voted for a tax increase if the difference went to firing BCG.

This is ridiculous the University of Kentucky is a complete joke and takes advantage of this state and her people every chance they get!

Couldn't agree more. Maybe better yet, how about Mitch Barnhart's salary?

Because the majority of UK fans probably don't pay taxes...:sssh:

I bet those of us who would actually be footing the bill wouldn't vote in majority to pay for UK's lawyers. I hate to think of what a tax we'll see if they lose the case and we have to foot the bill for his "contract".

Pitiful.

Why in the world wouldn't UK athletics pay this?

The money is going to the law firm;

Fischer & Phillips, LLP Attornies at Law

Dallas, TX.

The contract runs from June 23, 2009 to June 30, 2010.

On what I'm reading, if I'm correct, Insurance Reimbursement 100%. They are being charged $275 per hour.

Well that is part of the issues of the lawsuit. The UKAA is saying that Gillispie was an employee of the University, and not the UKAA, although Gillispie's W2 says otherwise.
