July 8, 200917 yr Maybe the cover letter isn't such a big deal after all. The more I think about it, surely these coaches had the blessings of their current schools to shop around. However, in Happy's case he makes a pretty big deal about how poorly funded the program is and how he has to beat the bushes for financial support.

I grew up in Bowling Green and Dwayne Casey was an acquaintance of my father when he coached with Clem Haskins at Western. When he got in trouble, I was shocked.......my father......wasn't. I'll never forget how my father was glad that Dwayne Casey was not at Western anymore. Apparently, he had gotten some training at Western about recruiting before he went to UK.........the rest.....as they say......is history.

Correct me if I'm wrong, WFU's mascot is the Argos, why did he put this in the resume? Our goals at West Florida will to continue the winning tradition of Screaming Eagles Are they like Auburn and GTech with multiple mascots? I rank them like this: 1. Happy Osborne 2. Jim Boone (Twice a D1 coach) 3. Greg Zimmerman (success at the D2 level, two pros) 4. Bob Stinnett (current HS coach)

July 11, 200917 yr Murray State did something like this when they hired Scott Edgar to replace Steve Newton in 1991 and brought in Mark Gottfried to take Edgar's place in 1995. They would publicly release the identity of the five finalists, then bring them in one-by-one for an interview and a press conference, among other things. The process worked well, since both coaches were successful and moved on to bigger schools ... Edgar to Duquesne and Gottfried to Alabama. Murray also did this with their football job in 1993, and the process got them Houston Nutt.
