July 9, 200917 yr There is no such thing as cruising with a 3-0 lead in GABP ... Well that's exactly what they were doing....don't pitch to the best hitter in the game today and you most likely win that game 3-1. You can't let Pujols beat you in a situation like that.
July 9, 200917 yr No, it's a point not many of us believe is true ... And that's fine...we have different opinions, it happens.

You can't let Pujols beat you in a situation like that.Pitching to Pujols there is a defendable decision, whether or not you agree with it. If you walk Pujols there, it's 3-1 and the Cardinals have a chance to tie the game with a single. If the Reds were up 4-0, I would've been more inclined to walk him because it would still take an extra-base hit to tie the game. The Reds chose to pitch to Pujols, and it didn't work ... that's the way it goes.
July 9, 200917 yr I don't care enough to look...I was making a simple point that people chose not to accept Well if you include Fri and 5 prior, they were 4-2 Take Fri and 5 post 2-4.

I just think you gotta make someone else beat you...JMO though. Especially when Pujols was 9-18 career vs. Weathers
July 9, 200917 yr Well if you include Fri and 5 prior, they were 4-2 Take Fri and 5 post 2-4. That says a lot... Granted the competition is a bit different

July 9, 200917 yr I have no problem facing/pitching to Pujols in that situation, just not with Stormy. And once again, that's on Dusty. Call it what you like, just one little loss amongst many.

This season Pujols with Bases loaded against RH pitcher. 6-7 .875 avg. 4 Hrs. 20 RBIs. Wow! Yeah good idea to pitch to him.
July 9, 200917 yr Well if you include Fri and 5 prior, they were 4-2 Take Fri and 5 post 2-4. I know you're joking about this right? I mean they are playing two division leaders in the last 2 series. They faced Carpenter and the WS MVP for 2 straight games. Did they lose those games b/c of Pujols' HR? Comapring what the Reds do against Arizona and Cleveland compared to St. Louis and Philly has to be a joke. I mean it has to be.
July 9, 200917 yr Does anyone else think that the Reds should trade Ramon Hernandez because A) this team isn't winning anything big this year B) Hanigan is a good player and will only get better with experience and C) Ramon is getting old but still has some trade value and we should sell high?
July 9, 200917 yr I don't recall many games where they were crusing along 3-0 then blew the game. Well the Phillies were cruising two nights ago 3-0 and the Reds came back and got the big win so that evens it out. Weren't the Reds cruising last night before the come from behind by the Phillies? Pujols is good enough to make a 3 run lead dissapear. That game was lost by Rhodes, Dusty, and Janish plain and simple. It hasn't had anything to do w/ losing a few games since then. Arroyo wasn't beating Carpenter no matter the situation and they weren't scoring 23 the other night. Again, they won't contend b/c they can't hit, not b/c they blew a 3 run lead Friday.

Yes if his trade value really is high.
