Votto: Put me in, Dusty, I'm ready

Featured Replies

DAYTON, Ohio The Reds’ offensive woes could ease this week, if Joey Votto has his way. Votto has been on the disabled list since May 29, with what the club termed “stress-related’’ issues. But after a two-game, weekend stint with the Class A Dayton Dragons, the first baseman said Sunday he was ready to return to the big-league club, perhaps as early as Tuesday in Toronto. “I felt great out there,’’ said Votto. In two games with the Dragons, Votto had three hits, a home run and three RBI. More importantly, Votto said, was being able to play consecutive, nine-inning games without having to leave the game.

When Votto does come back would you consider putting #55 at 3rd base?

That would be best for the club

I guess I'm looking for a solid reason why you would not. It seems logical to me until he proves he simply cannot handle the hot corner.

When's the last time 55 played the hot corner?

It goes without saying that the Reds desperately miss his bat in the lineup. I'll be happy to see him back and hopefully healthy.

Heck, I say put Rosales at SS and 55 at 3B. Hairston is worse than them both.

Now way Rosales is better than Hairston

Just talking to dad last night. Cincy was having a really good year before Votto went down. Hopefully he sparks them. Bruce has got to start hitting too. Worry about Phillips thumb...

He played 1 inning there this year. Before that, I'm not sure if he ever has.

I only watched part of today's game sparingly but I saw Rosales make two great plays at third, back to back.

Some of you guys make it sound like Ramon Hernandez is an essential in the lineup, even though he hits like the aging catcher he is.

Absolutely sick plays..
