I have been reading some good things about Behanan. He is the one that just transfered from Ohio to Bowling Green. Hopefully I will get to go see him play this year.

 

State title is our goal for this year and next, and I agree with you, with the talent we have, that is a possibility. :thumb:

 

If we can just stay healthy, this coming season could be very exciting for the Cards. :ylsuper:

I agree with Stenzel being the best player in the 10th region next year...but statewide there is a lot of talent in the class of 2011, including top 25, nationally ranked, Chane Behanan. He'll be the heavy favorite to win Mr. Basketball in the "2010-2011" season IMO. He is the most talented player in that class and honestly it's not very close between him and those behind him. I think Stenzel will have more TEAM success over the next two years though. That junior class is very deep and talented at GRC and they should be state title contenders this year and favorites next year.

GRC should be one of the top 3 teams in the state. I think the key for them, besides the obvious of staying healthy, is the draw they get in the region and the state. Im not ready to count out Mason County in that region just yet. I have seen them this summer and was very impressed with the way they played. Plus, I think that is a mental barrier the cards have to get over. Also, depending on where the 9th and 10th draw in the state could determine a lot for GRC in the postseason.

What Clark county should have done was get Chris Harrison to transfer from Trinity to Clark county filling the void at point. Stenzel and the Harrison kid are related so that would have been fun to see. Who wouldn't want to be in the Fieldhouse in March and hear, "Harrison for 3," again?

Missing were, Purvis(forward), Kendred (guard) and Martin (guard). Purvis will start, and look for either Kendred or Martin to be the other guard to start.

 

Also I was told that coach has been subbing alot at the guard positions. Used 3 Freshman that did not play varsity or JV last year. They needed the experience against some of the best guards in the state, to show them what they need to work on.

GRC will easily be top 5 in the state next year. I'd think they should be in the 3-5 range. I'd personally rank the top 5 like this:

 

1. Holmes

2. Scott Co

3. Eastern

4. GRC

5. Christian Co

I'd have to agree on the top three. After that, I think Tates Creek, Shelby Valley and others would have an argument.

I just don't think those teams lack of height would be able to contend with GRC. Those teams you mentioned could very well slide in to the #5 spot though.

 

GRC's front court will create a lot of mismatches.

The only question mark I see for GRC is at PG. I expect Stenzel to have to handle the ball a lot. I think GRC is #5 in the state behind J-town, Eastern, Holmes, and Scott Co. (no order). I would be surprised for GRC not to be at Rupp next year.

GRC will have to get the ball up the floor to the big guys for them to be successful. Lack of a PG will haunt them in the end. High school basketball is controlled by good guards. Stenzel will help some, but I don't see Humphrey playing him at PG that often.

Chase Kindred will be more than qualified to play point. There will be some younger boys who will make waves this year also!
