  1. Does anyone have July schedules for the Kentucky teams?
  2. Article from today's Ledger Independent in Maysville: Royal success on the sideline | Sports | maysville-online.com
  3. Congrats to Ryan Hamm, 2009 graduate of Mason County High School, for being named to the NABC 30-Under-30 list. This list recognizes the top 30 coaches under the age of 30 in the collegiate game! NABC Unveils 2
  4. Sean is one of the best kids I've had the pleasure of being around in the game of basketball. Everything that he has battled through and his love for the game is remarkable. Proud of him for who he is as a person!
  5. Thomas More is getting a great player from a great family. High character and toughness wins!
  6. Does anyone have 17u rosters? Louisville Magic? Hoop Dreams? Team Manimal?
  7. Can someone close to the AAU teams in the state post their schedules for July?
  8. Is Hamm interested? Does anyone know? I have watched him work the sidelines like crazy in AAU. Not sure if he is ready to be a head coach or not, but love his passion and knowledge.
  9. A top 30 ranking without Sean McNeil is crazy. The kid can play. Crawford will not get much love playing at Bracken County, but he is definitely a top 10 player in the state for 2017.
  10. Austin Crawford of Bracken County and Sean McNeil of Cooper are two of the top players in the class of 2017 without any question.
  11. Congrats to Coach Hamm! I have loved watching his passion for the game over the years. Saint Leo will be getting a bright young mind with an endless work ethic. I hope to see this group stay together and possibly add a big. I don't know how much of it was Hamm, but the kids seemed to really mesh together well.
  12. NKY Elite 2017 has had a great year, but this past week at the Eddie Ford Hoopfest might have been the most impressive. With a limited roster due to injury, this group won a tough pool and advanced to the Gold Bracket where they eventually fell to a really good Cincinnati Royals team by the score of 57-50. They trailed 51-50 with a minute left and could not get the ball to drop. JC Hawkins went down in their first pool game with a torn ACL and Mason Gambrel did not play due to a stress fracture in his back. Cooper Scherr and Aaron O'Hara were both absent due to football. This left the team with 7 guys and not a lot of scoring. I have watched a lot of basketball over the years, but absolutely love watching this group of kids and coach. Coach Hamm and those kids seem to really respect one another and really care about each other. The way they battle each possession against more talented teams is what it's all about.
  13. The backcourt of Crawford and McNeil is really tough. Throw in JC Hawkins (SK), Luke Moeves (NCC), and Cole Hegyi (Campbell Co) and you have 5 guards that know how to score.
  14. They lost in the Sweet 16 of the Platinum Bracket to the Iowa Barnstormers 79-67. Pretty much a one-two possession game in its entirety, but NKY Elite could not get over the hump.
  15. NKY Elite had a solid showing in Indianapolis for the Adidas Invitational. They won their pool with a 94-38 win over King of the Court (Akron), 69-57 win over Club Elite North (Indianapolis) and 85-77 win over UPlay Bounce (Canada). In the UPlay win, NKY Elite overcame an 18 point deficit and had an all around great team effort led by Sean McNeil with 45 points and Austin Crawford with 28 points and 9 rebounds. NKY Elite advanced to the Platinum Bracket where they were defeated by Iowa Barnstormers who feature Connor McCaffery (Frank McCaffery, Iowa HC son) and Devontae Lane. The Barnstomers finished the game on a 14-6 run to win 79-67. This Elite group is really run to watch. If you have not seen them play, I highly recommend it. The kids know how to play. They will be in Louisville this week for the Kentucky Hoopfest.
  16. NKY Elite was in Fort Wayne, Indiana this past weekend playing in the Run N Slam Memorial Day Classic. They ended up going 4-1 and winning the silver division after losing their first pool game to ACB out of Michigan. These guys have a nice balanced team with high character kids. Very fun to watch. It looks like they finish the Spring AAU Season at 24-6 with Championships at the Bearcat Classic and Hawk Challenge. A silver bracket championship in Fort Wayne, two third place finishes (Eddie Ford and AAU Super Regional), and an Elite 8 finish at AAU State with losses to the two finalists. Very strong Spring!
  17. Noah is making strides and being pushed by the coaches. He's had a couple of big games where he looks to be headed in the right direction. Developing consistency is the next step. He is definitely improved from when they started. The kids that I really liked were the Cooper Scherr, Aaron O'Hara, and Cole Hegyi. Those guys get after it!
  18. NKY Elite 2017 won the Hawk Challenge in Cincinnati this weekend. They played without JC Hawkins most of the weekend due to a really nasty neck injury in pool play. These guys are really fun to watch and extremely well coached.
  19. Crawford seems to be having a pretty good Spring season. He struggled in the game I saw against Louisville Magic scoring, but excelled in other areas of the game. He is putting up pretty consistent numbers according to the team's twitter account.
