June 16, 200917 yr Here is my article tonight on five theories of what UK will do with Meeks' vacated scholarship. They include some real possiblities, some far-fetched ideas and the downright obsurd. What Will Kentucky Do With That Open Scholarship? I'm going with theory 2 - what are everyone's thoughts?
June 16, 200917 yr I believe Calipari will just hold it over unless he can somehow get a wing that can fill it up an is athletic enough to play for him.
June 16, 200917 yr I believe he may have found a player overseas that he likes, but who knows what will happen from it. Could be nothing, could be something...If not then he'll save it IMO.
June 16, 200917 yr #2 seems to be the most likely. I think there is an outside shot at #5...something I wouldn't mind at all.
June 16, 200917 yr I like the Porter thought. The young man has given more than all the Wildcats and taken the most CRAP from STUPID Kentucky fans also. Give him the scholly and give him what he deserves A WILDCAT SENIOR NIGHT!!!!!!!
June 16, 200917 yr Word on some Baltimore sports talk stations yesterday (Maryland is the supposed leader for Stephenson) is that Kentucky is back in the mix for Lance Stephenson. Not sure if KY needs this kind of negative baggage, but who knows?
June 16, 200917 yr I think it will be option #2. However, if not Porter, and you have it to give, would it not be good to give it to Dwight Perry? Would that help our grad rate to have him graduate under scholarship?
June 16, 200917 yr I think it will be option #2. However, if not Porter, and you have it to give, would it not be good to give it to Dwight Perry? Would that help our grad rate to have him graduate under scholarship? If that is true...I also like this idea.
June 16, 200917 yr 2 and 5 are essentially the same. If Porter wants to come back they can still use the scholarship next year.
June 16, 200917 yr ...would it not be good to give it to Dwight Perry? Would that help our grad rate to have him graduate under scholarship? I know college baseball and some other minor sports can split scholarship money among several players. If Kentucky were to award Dwight Perry, I think it would be only right to split the money in half and give one part to Mark Krebs.
