He quit warming up and was watching the at bat from the pen.

May 18, 200917 yr He pinch hit his worst player in a key situation when he put in a pitcher that is a far better hitter than the guy who hit. That's easy to second guess. The night before in the top of the 7th up a run w/ two guys on he leaves Harang in to weakly ground out after having already thrown 98 pitches. Second guessing is allowed. It's fine to second guess as a fan once the game is over and you see a losing result. But Harang had been dealing, is the staff ace and was still given a 2 run lead. No on expected him to blow that lead. 98 pitches is not a huge deal when he hadn't thrown many of them at all under pressure. Dusty doesn't win games, Dusty doesn't lose games. I get so sick of people blaming coaches all the time. It's time we put some responsibility of players for performances.

However, the Manager does make the lineup and in my opinion, he should of stayed with the same lineup Friday that Kicked the D-Backs tail.

I was watching the game w/ quite a few season ticket holders and everyone w/ us thought he should pinch hit. Questioning Dusty seems appropriate any time I feel like it. I had no problem w/ Harang staying in the game IF he weren't up to bat in a HUGE spot. Dusty makes quite a few head scratching decisions. One of them is his best player having to come out of quite a few games lately. Maybe he needs to get some rest so they quit replacing him every time he plays a few innings.

He has seemingly done a good job, but he does make some questionable decisions. He's not the one swinging the bats, but he does decide who gets to and when. I would rather McDonald not be up in big spots unless he's the only option left.
