May 17, 200917 yr Author I think Owing pitching tonight means we will see either Bailey or Maloney going Wednesday against the Phillies. Maloney tonight.... Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Maloney (L, 3-2) 7.0 6 1 1 1 5 0 2.64 They won't need anyone. I forgot they have an off day Monday. They can bring Harang back on 4 days rest on Wednesday. They won't need to bring a starter up from Louisville.
May 17, 200917 yr Fay says Votto had mild dizziness. Great... Remember when Nick Esasky had vertigo:scared: just wonderin..
May 17, 200917 yr Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why in the world do you use McDonald in that situation? Why not Janish? Why not Hanigan? No, Dusty, let's just use the worst hitter on the team. I can't wait to hear Dusty's explanation on that one. :ohbrother::ohbrother::ohbrother: First off they were better when you watched it the next day. JK Secondly, they will lose at least 8 games b/c Dusty is an idiot. Are they good enough to overcome that?
May 17, 200917 yr First off they were better when you watched it the next day. JK Secondly, they will lose at least 8 games b/c Dusty is an idiot. Are they good enough to overcome that? .049 games cost by what fans percieve to be bad moves by the manager. Is that a high number?
May 17, 200917 yr The Weathers 2-2 fastball on the inside corner of the plate was strike three, but then again if Weathers isn't barking at the ump the pitch before he probably gets that call. Pitchers should never show emotion.
May 17, 200917 yr Disappointing weekend for the Reds really need to salvage a win today and move on. Before the trip, most everyone agreed that 4-2 would be a great trip. With a win today, they've done that.
May 17, 200917 yr .049 games cost by what fans percieve to be bad moves by the manager. Is that a high number? I'm not sure, but he has cost them one of the last two and possibly both of the last two. I would think that some managaers are good enough to win you 10 games instead of losing 10.

You can't make a case the Dusty lost them the game last night....and you can only make a very weak case he lost them the game the night before. It's so easy to second guess a decision after it happens.
May 17, 200917 yr Dusty didn't lose that game. It's not his fault the couldn't put another run on the board in 6+ extra innings and gave up the lead.
May 17, 200917 yr You can't make a case the Dusty lost them the game last night....and you can only make a very weak case he lost them the game the night before. It's so easy to second guess a decision after it happens. He pinch hit his worst player in a key situation when he put in a pitcher that is a far better hitter than the guy who hit. That's easy to second guess. The night before in the top of the 7th up a run w/ two guys on he leaves Harang in to weakly ground out after having already thrown 98 pitches. Second guessing is allowed.

Last nights decision was a head scratcher, but there's no way to say Owings would have done any better in the AB.
May 17, 200917 yr I didn't get to watch the entire game, am I reading on here that Dusty pinch hit for Owings???? If so, WHY?
May 17, 200917 yr I didn't get to watch the entire game, am I reading on here that Dusty pinch hit for Owings???? If so, WHY? No. Dusty had Owings warming up to come in and pitch the next inning. The Reds got to the pitcher spot in the batting order right before Owings was going to come in and pitch. Instead of using Owings to pinch hit in that spot, he wasted McDonald when he could have used Owings to pinch hit and still had him go in to pitch the next inning. Does that make any sense?
