Can anyone remember the last time the Bengals were making this many good off season moves between the draft and Free agent pickups? I am really excited to see if the Bengals can compete for a Wild Card this season. Maybe win 10 games.:clap:

Roy Williams was outstanding under Zimmer. Then, the Cowboys went to a 3-4 & Williams fell off. Let's see what he can do under Zimmer again. If it doesn't work out, then so be it. If so, it could be a great addition. I agree with whoever said that Mike Zimmer has been the best acquisition in a long time.

I am sure what attracts Roy is his belief that Coach Zimmer knows exactly how to showcase his talents. If Carson stays healthy, get me a big pitcher of kool aid because I am ready to drink.
May 7, 200917 yr I have a feeling he won't make it to the first game. Probably won't. He's terrible. He wasn't that good in Dallas when he was there, and now he's old :lol:. For a "big hitter" he misses a lot of tackles in the run game and struggles a lot in coverage as well.
May 7, 200917 yr A really good DB against the run, but his nick name should be toast for his coverage skills. Steelers had Lee Flowers several years ago, who fit that same mold. I've seen him miss more than his fair share of tackles in the run game. He is decent, but has been over rated his entire career.

People fell in love with him in college & he brings a certain toughness with him that the Bengals have been lacking. Call him horrible, call him fat, call him what you will. The fact remains that Roy Williams went to 5 pro bowls under Mike Zimmer. He must have been doing something right.

May 7, 200917 yr He is no longer the player that made those pro bowls. Obviously. But, Williams' decline came when Zimmer left Dallas & Dallas switched to a 3-4 defense. Williams & Zimmer are now re-united in Cincinnati. Williams is not expected to make the pro bowl. Heck, he probably won't even start.

I really like the Bengals young secondary. Assuming they stay healthy, I don't see Williams supplanting either of the current safeties as a starter. Cincy has quietly been constructing a defense the past two or three seasons. If things come together and they can stay healthy, this unit has a lot of potential. The secondary is good with a big upside, IMO. The SC linebackers have added a lot of credibility and playmaking ability to that position. And, hopefully, Tank Johnson can produce at DT to help the run defense. There is still work to be done, but I really like what the Bengals have done in the past two years through free agency and the draft.

TJ is gone, but we've replaced him with Coles. Add that to the fact that Caldwell came on late, and I think we've got a solid WR corp again in CJ, Coles, Caldwell & Henry. The key is Palmer remaining healthy. By all accounts, he is & he's ready to go.

By all accounts, he is & he's ready to go. Palmer has not been the same since the 05 season. Coles is a downgrade over TJ. The top running back is considered a draft bust.
