Based on what? They have virtually no pass rush.

Tank Johnson? Robert Geathers? Possibly Michael Johnson? Rey? Odom... How do they have no pass rush???

Until they prove they have a pass rush in the games and not just on paper. Then Halfback is right. I mean the Bengals had no pass rush last year, and now were going to rely on rookies to see if we got a pass rush this year. So as of right now we still have no pass rush. It is a wait and see approach with that right now.

Palmer has not been the same since the 05 season.

Coles is a downgrade over TJ.

The top running back is considered a draft bust.

I HATE when people say that, because its not TRUE. I mean the 06 year the season right after his knee injury, I believe he put up even better numbers than he did in 05 if I remember correctly. He also led the team to what should have been another playoff appearance. However the special teams decided to choke that away in two straight games. It is not Palmer, is the players around him have not been the same since 05. I mean after the 05 season the line got old and bad, Chad decided he rather talk instead of trying to be the best like he use to try to be. The defense well still stunk until last year. So it has not been Palmer, its just the team it self went down around him since then. He proved in 06 that he still has it and has done what he can to help the team.

Tank Johnson is a legitimate DT...

Look up the stats from those guys last year.

Tank Johnson - 1 sack

Robert Geathers - 2.5

Michael Johnson - (Rookie...had 9 sacks in college)

Rey - (rookie)

Odom - 3 sacks

So the players that you listed that were there last year had 6.5 sacks....most good defensive ends get that easily by themselves in 1 season. I think the Giants had 3 players with more than 6 sacks last year...maybe 4. Like I said before...they have no pass rush.

Maybe against the run...but he is no pass rusher.

I guarentee the Bengals are in the top half of the league next year when it comes to sacks... Write it down.:D:lol:

I seriously doubt that will happen.

That's fine... I don't really care what you think about the Bengals. I think with Odom, Johnson, Sims, Geathers, and Peko as the front 4, they will get enough sacks.

If you don't like differing opinions that's fine.

The main thing the Bengals need is pressure on the QB, if they get that then it will make all the DB's on this team look good. I still think they are a bit thin at CB, but the crop of safeties they have now look pretty good.

They brought in Hood today for a workout to see if he could help out with the lack of depth at CB.

I'm not saying that your opinion has no merit, just that it will have no effect on mine...

If you say it enough you might even believe it, but he is not the same.

Anyone and everyone that has watched Roy Williams more than just on sports center knows he's not anywhere near as good as advertised. If he was, the Cowboys wouldn't have let him go so easily.

Once again, you're missing the point. Williams is being brought in as a back up. And your argument about the Cowboys letting him walk doesn't hold much water, considering they let TO walk as well. Unless he's not as good as advertised.

Robert Geathers is a solid DE, but was hurt most of last year. Hence the poor numbers. He had 2.5 sacks in 11 games. Not overly impressive, but not too horrible.

In '07, Geathers had 3.5 sacks in 16 games, but I think that was the year he played linebacker...

In '06, Geathers had 10.5 sacks in a reserve role...

Maybe against the run...but he is no pass rusher.

No doubt that Tank Johnson is more of a run stuffer. Fortunately, that's exactly what the Bengals need. :thumb:

By the way, I'm anxiously awaiting your reply as to whether you thought signing Coles & drafting Rey Mueluega in round 2 were "smart moves?"
