May 10, 200917 yr I simply can't see Denver beating LA. How does Denver stop the front court of LA? Kobe is better than Billups... LA is deeper... I just can't see Denver beating them in a 7 game series. Nene has been playing very well in this series and although I don't think he'll be as good in the conference finals as he has been in the semis, he isn't going to completely disappear. Kenyon Martin is not much of an offensive player but he is still one of the top three low-post defenders in the NBA. Odom isn't quick enough to guard Carmelo and Ariza isn't a very good defender. Kobe will get his for sure, Dahntay Jones is a good defender but he woun't be able to hold Kobe down. As for Fisher on Billups, Chauncey will eat his lunch. Also, 1 player can't win a series, but 2 can and Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups are a better combination that Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom or Kobe Bryant or Pau Gasol. The Nuggets haven't played better defense than the Lakers all year and now all of a sudden they will? It should be a great series, but I think the diffence will be Odom, Gasol, and Bynum inside, not Chauncey Billups. The Nuggets are a much improved team with Billups at the point but time and time again we see that it takes battle tested teams who have been there and know how to win in order to win a series like this. Chauncey will not be enough to overcome an entire Laker team that has the hunger(much like last year's Celtics) to erase the taste of last year's bitter loss in the finals. Kenyon Martin and Chauncey Billups are the only Nuggets with this kind of playoff experience. JR Smith's inexperience and immaturity very well could be the downfall for the Nuggets against the Lakers. It should be fun though, I just don't think the Nuggets are ready yet and Geoge Karl is likely to be out coached by Phil Jackson......again. The game the Nuggets lost was a game won on a shot with 2 seconds left in the 4th and Carmelo's last second half court shot to win it hit the rim. The Nuggets also tied an NBA record with a 58 point blowout which is something the Cavs haven't done. Neither team has or will be tested until the next round regardless of whether or not they lose any games in the 2nd round. Plus, you hate Kobe, you aren't going to truly give the Lakers any credit for the season they have had....... I don't hate Kobe, hate is a little too strong of a word. I can't stand him, but I still watch the Lakers play every time they are on television because they are a good basketball team and I like to watch good basketball. I root against them everytime they are on; but I'll give them their credit and they probably beat the Nuggets 6 out of 10, I think the Nuggets are playing good basketball right now and all you need is to win 4. Chauncey Billups has provided that team with something they haven't had since I have been alive: toughness, a grea work ethic and something that Allen Iverson was never able to give them. I think to beat the Lakers you have to come out and hit them in the mouth and play physical-like the Rockets are playing them right now, how the Spurs have always played them and how the Celtics played them last season in the Finals-I think the Nuggets can do this. Martin is an excellent post defender, Nene is playing great right now and Andersen gives them energy, rebounding and shot blocking off the bench. It will be a great series to watch, I can't wait. I think the Nuggets win in 7.

May 10, 200917 yr I thought the Lakers would put the hammer down today. Houston came out firing and never looked back. LA needs to play well in every game, not just when they feel it's urgent.
May 10, 200917 yr Lakers are just soft. Maybe this Rockets team can make it a series. I don't think they can win, but 7 could be possible. THis team can be scarier without Yao, it allows they to space out and use their quickness. I think the Nuggets may be favored if they and the Lakers meet.
May 11, 200917 yr Lakers PG's are killing them. I still think they win the series but after that who knows. This isn't the same Lakers team from the regular season.
