Chris Harrison will be moving to Michigan in late summer.

 Really! This is the 1st I have heard of it. Thats a bit of a surprise considering his dad is a Ky guy and hes had success at Trinity.

Look for Jordan Gilbert of Mason Co. to have good year. Played mostly shooting guard last year while Middleton played the point. Good handles, quick and can shoot the 3. He will be back to his natural position next year.

Point guards can shoot too ,can't they?

Only if they have the ball.

Who do you think will be the best PG in the state next year?

Some of the main ones I can think of will be:

Chad Jackson

Jared Polson

Josh Whitaker

Elijah Justice

Thomas Jackson

Robbie Stenzel (assuming he plays PG)

Delquan Thomas

Ryan Fucci

Jordan Shanklin

Fucci is a PG?

I agree that Josh Forrest will be the next great PG (if he plays the position) next season. I read that Tilghman needed him to step in and play the PG position last year and he rose to the challenge and exceeded expectations. Not to mention the kid is 6'5" so he will be able to physically dominate the smaller guys.

I know a lot of people are talking about the obvious players for next season. Guys like: Shanklin, Jackson, Forrest, etc.

But I want to throw some other names out there as guys you'll want to keep an eye on. Jordan Gilbert (Mason County), Chris Harrison (Trinity), Matt Trammel (Dixie Heights) and Jake Flesch (Connor Highschool).

Jordan Gilbert (Mason County) did an excellent job last weekend at the Shootout. This kid is quick and can get to the rim, passes well, plays solid defense, plays mistake free (for the most part) and is a good floor leader. I think he'll make some noise at Mason County next season. He aslo lead by example.

Chris Harrison (Trinity) is a good ball player. The kid can knock it down from anywhere on the floor. He is a good, verbal court general that seems to pass well. His defense is solid and we'll be hearing about him for a couple years to come. (I just read that he's moving to Michigan. Even if he does, you'll hear about him in recruiting). Also a good FT shooter.

Matt Trammel (Dixie Heights) is a great young player. If he plays PG next season you should keep an eye on him. He can score from anywhere on the court. A quick first step to the rim, good defense, leads by example, good FT shooter, and can simply take a game over. Loves a challenge.

Jake Flesch (Connor Highschool) is a very quick young talent. I add him in the mix because he was poised to start varsity as a sophomore, but spent 3/4 of the season injured. He passes very well and likes to get teammates involved. He also plays relatively mistake free, can score when he needs to, and his defense is second to none. Excellent FT shooter.

Look for these kids to open some eyes and make some noise. Watch them this summer and next season. Each of the previous is a Junior (to be).

I didn't know Forrest was a PG.

Not too many 6'5" PG's here in Kentucky...he did a great job of handling the ball and his shooting really improved over the course of the year. If he continues to improve over for the next few years he could really be a D-1 type of player to keep an eye on.

Forrest is a beast. This kid is 6'5" and has a monster like frame. He is quick and explodes to the rim. The only question I have when you are talking point guards is, how often is your point also your best scorer?

Fucci is a PG?

He split time at PG this year. His game is probably more geared to that. He is an exceptional passer and has a very good understanding of the game.

Isn't Holmes PG coming back?

Rico Johnson? Or was he a 2? Or am I just having a brain cramp?

He ran the point some, but I think I would consider Jamel Riley their main pg and Ricardo more of a wing. Maybe some of the Holmes fans can chime in.

Rico will run the point for Holmes next year.

Only if they have the ball.

I would think they would have the ball about every time down court.

Why didn't Chase Kindred play last year?

To concentrate on another sport...Tennis. He is a great tennis player. But like many of our athletes at GRC he suffered a injury last summer and did not get to compete in alot of the tourneys. Why he wanted to rehab and concentrate this past year and get ready for tennis competition this year.
