I wouldn't go so far as to say criticism from Perez Hilton is being "Skewered". She answered a direct question with her opinion, he didn't like it and I haven't read it but my understanding is he posted something on his blog. She said her piece and he said his, whats the problem with that?

 

I don't have a problem with him saying what he thinks about what she said... My problem is, is her honesty and opinion more then likely cost her the Miss USA title. That's what bothers me.

I don't mind that she spoke her mind, that is fine with me. But if she was all for gay marriage I wonder if as many people would have been "Glad" she spoke her mind.

 

I don't think that it would have caused an uproar if she did support gay marriage. It seems like it's a fad spreading across America these days and people want to support it.

Possibly you should check out what Hilton said. Her answer was in accordance with her beliefs and was courageous in that she knew she was going against the questioner, an avowed and open homosexual, and that of many in the audience.

 

His response, however, was a direct attack upon her as a person. His language, if posted, would result in being banned from BGP although it plays well in less dignified venues.

 

Those who imply that her answer and his response are of a similar nature are not being honest. But we all know that blond-headed, attractive Caucasian females who hold traditional Christian views are always open to ridicule. Political correctness isn't available to those such as her.

Maybe to provoke the reaction that they got. Were the other contestants asked the same question? Did any of them asnwer in the same way?

So after starting a thread about Political correctness being akin or worse than censorship you have a problem with a blog post not being politically correct? Hey, HC, I am consistent in my beliefs and if you read my posts you would know that.

 

To be clear, I do support some forms of what some would call censorship (ie: the content of some music, movies, etc. which, I believe, prey upon our easily influenced youth). However, forced political correctness, which I find to be particularly disingenuous, is not one of the forms of censorship that I remotely support.

My thoughts on gay marriage are the same as Ms. California's. I was just brought up to believe that marriage was between a man and woman. My faith in the bible also deters me from supporting gay marriage.

Being Gay is a sin and if the sinner doesn't repent they will be judged by Jesus Christ. I have verses if someone wants to see them.

 

In fact I was at a court session and the opposing Lawyers had a letter that I wrote getting on the Local paper about their stand on the Gay issue.

 

The Bible tells us we are to "warn" others of their sin.

 

Mama taped the show for me and I played it back and I noticed the reaction of the crowd, and was pleased.

 

The word Marriage and Gay do not fit...it cannot happen.

 

Miss California was a better choice, was cuter.

Would anyone have a problem with the organization running this banning her from the crown due to her belief on marriage?
