April 20, 200917 yr Good for her. Last time I checked she has the right to believe what she wants, even if it isn’t the politically correct answer.
April 20, 200917 yr Glad to see someone isn't afraid to speak what they believe! :thumb: Your post should be a wakeup call to all who believe in traditional Judeo-Christian tenets. The fact is that the politically correct agenda is destroying the fabric of our country. Miss California can handle herself but the millions of innocents in our public schools cannot do so. And, if you believe it will get better, you are not informed. I also see that Yahoo reports that Miss California "stumbled" in her answer while MSNBC says she "fumbled". More unabated bias. If you saw the tape of her answer, it is clear that she parsed her statement by making a politically correct statement in the beginning before stating her belief as to marriage being between a man and a woman. One would be led to believe from the "reporting" that her views were out of the mainstream of American thought. Obviously, that is not yet true. However, if all these traditional Christians continue to sit on their butts and not take a firm stand, public education and the media will make sure that traditional beliefs are indeed out of the mainstream. If you doubt it, turn off "American Idol", put down your bag of potato chips, get off readends, and educate yourselves to the influences of today. Edited April 20, 200917 yr by Wyrostek
April 20, 200917 yr She gave an honest answer and tried to be as PC as possible, but still was honest. I have no problem with her giving her opinion on the issue. If they didn't want to know her answer, then don't ask the question.

Regardless of what Liberals might say, we are not headed in the right direction.

If they didn't want to know her answer, then don't ask the question. Maybe to provoke the reaction that they got. Were the other contestants asked the same question? Did any of them asnwer in the same way?
April 20, 200917 yr Maybe to provoke the reaction that they got. Were the other contestants asked the same question? Did any of them asnwer in the same way? No, all the questions were different. I am not defending gay marriage one way or the other, but it shocked me she answered the way she did. To me it appeared Hilton was irked with the response.
April 20, 200917 yr I'm proud of her for saying what is on her mind, instead of just saying what she believed everyone wanted to hear. Good for her!
April 20, 200917 yr I'm proud of her for saying what is on her mind, instead of just saying what she believed everyone wanted to hear. Good for her! Gay marriage is still not legal for a reason in the majority of the country. I too am happy she responded with how she really felt.
April 20, 200917 yr I don't mind that she spoke her mind, that is fine with me. But if she was all for gay marriage I wonder if as many people would have been "Glad" she spoke her mind.
April 20, 200917 yr I wouldn't go so far as to say criticism from Perez Hilton is being "Skewered". She answered a direct question with her opinion, he didn't like it and I haven't read it but my understanding is he posted something on his blog. She said her piece and he said his, whats the problem with that?
April 20, 200917 yr I totally agree with the bolded part. Regardless of what Liberals might say, we are not headed in the right direction. Regardless of what conservatives say, I believe we are. Besides Obama's position on gay marriage is not much different if at all than most conservatives. Steve Schmidt and Meghan McCain also leveled criticism against thier party in the last few days over the subject of gay marriage, what are your thoughts on that?

My thoughts on gay marriage are the same as Ms. California's. I was just brought up to believe that marriage was between a man and woman. My faith in the bible also deters me from supporting gay marriage.
