The sabbath is for the Jewish people. Don't fall into a man made trap made by man, It can cost you something dearly. The Bible says to obey the Laws of the land and to honor the leaders. A marriage has the legal papers that the States go by, and thats why divorce is so hard...different subject.

I'll be glad to explain that for you, forgiveness of sins is not required for us to go to an altar and shead lamb's blood do we? Jesus is the new law and you will not find these Moses's laws under the new testament teachings.

 

There were Old Testamnent Laws concerning Sexual behavior way back early in the Bible. I shown these in an earlier post.

Not quite my friend...Jesus mentions nine of the ten in the new testament. The one he doesn't is the sabbath. Remember the main reason the Jews wanted to kill Jesus? He healed a man on this sabbath. He allowed his disciples to gather food on the sabbath. The Sabbath to the Jews you couldn't even get your mule out of a ditch until the next day, its an OLd Testament Law under Moses. Thats not "pickin and Choosing" its written in RED.

Would you be for all governments doing away with marriages and having civil unions instead? And if so, is it cool to have homosexual civil unions?

 

This way marriages would be theocratic and civil unions could be the secular bond to determine things like taxes, inheritance, etc.

The Bible says many things. It says we should put to death those who work on the Sabbath. It says those who touch the skin of unclean animals should be put to death, which I'm sure won't be popular among football teams who play with the pigskin. My dad may have to be put down because he planted different crops side by side. Even though it's in the Bible, I may choose to overlook these proclomations without fear of not making it to Heaven.

Galatians 3:23 - Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law

 

 

Ephesians 2:15 - by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace.

 

 

So if this is what the Bible says, why are we still observing the Ten Commandments? Why should I drive 55 mph to work? Why cant I just up and take my neighbor's truck. And his wife while I'm at it?

In post #28 I'm just saying that I think she should say how she feels, even if I don't agree with it, it's much better than giving the false answer. And for that I applaud her.

 

I'm not trying to patronize, so hopefully my assumption is right that the "U" word is "Utopian"? When I use it I'm just trying to refer to the perfect way government should be ran in my mind. Since my views on how government should be ran are very far off from how it actually happens today, a lot of times I have to answer a question two ways. The way something should be done in a Utopian or perfect government and the way something should be done in todays government.

It wouldn't in today's society. People don't value marriage anymore. There is no til death do us part, and all that hoopla. This would actually solve a lot of problems. The divorce rate, which is at an incredible high, would be non-existant. Gays, and gay supporters wouldn't have to wine and cry all the time about their rights. People like Perez Hilton wouldn't matter as much, and we'd all live happily ever after in a moraless society seperated from God until one day out of the blue you hear a loud trumpet in the sky, "Doot doot doo doo." Then, none of it will matter.
