They have the potential to break into the top 25, but the offense has to gain some consistency. I think that if they can settle on a QB they should be fine. The defense should be one of the top in the SEC, IF they can remain healthy which was a problem last year. Namely, Micah Johnson has to be healthy and so does THE BEST CB in the country, Trevard Lindley. Lindley is one of the top rated prospects for next years draft, and should be one of the 1st CB's taken next year. He's not the fastest, but as we all know he is a real player. Really, the offenses ability to stay on the field and finding a capable replacement for Myron Pryor will determine how good UK's defense is. Couple of things Brooks has talked about so far in spring practice reports and such: -He said Winston Guy is looking really good at Free Safety and should help the defense out all season long. -Alphonso Smith has impressed in the scrimmages and practices, and Red-shirt frosh HB Coshik Williams is getting alot of love from UK faithful, but he is rumored to possibly be transferring. But with those two, Moncel Allen, and POSSIBLY a healthy Derrick Locke UK could have a great stable of RB's. -Randall Cobb will play some QB, but so far it has mainly been out of a "Wildcat" like package. Look for the 'Cats to use it this season. Also, as expected Cobb will most likely be the top target at WR. Overall though, while the Cats have talent the schedule will probably keep them out of breaking the top 25 when it is all said and done. Playing rival U of L, followed by Florida and 'Bama will be a a tough task.

I do not think USC is as surprising as some make it seem. 99 time out of 100, a frosh QB is not going to get it done, and losing essentially all of your defense is not a recipe for success. I believe everyone just assumed they would reload and be in the top 5.

I'm a big Patterson fan. As for Bama, the season isn't over yet :lol:. I'm just playing with ya, Larry :thumb:.
