Not a surprise, and it's good to hear Liggins say that he's committed.

 

Personally, I think Cal will do wonders for both he & Galloway.

I believe there were a few others that probably felt the same feelings. It must have been difficult to have a coach/player relationship with BCG.

Yeah, seems that there's no doubt about that now. From a purely coaching standpoint, I still would have liked to see him get one more year to get more of his guys in there and then truly judge him, but he was way too much poison behind the scenes.

Kind of makes you wonder where he will end up coaching now that a lot of his actions are making it to daylight. It also makes you wonder about stuff that happened that we don't know about.

 

I'm hopeful things can work out not only for Liggins, but for all Cats who had to endure the reign of BCG.

I think there were quite a few Cats fans that were down on Liggins and/or Galloway at some point in the season, and I always felt it was unwarranted. You can tell that both obviously have the athletic ability to be two of the best on the squad, BCG just wasn't the guy to get them there, IMO.

I battled all season fr Liggins and took a lot of flack for it. I for one think he got such a raw deal last year. I know he played out of control at times, and I know he he would give up a couple turnovers, but who wasn't giving up turnovers this season? I mean we had like thirty a game. For every mistake Liggins had you better bet he also had a play whether it being a sweet dish, or drive to the basket that made you say he's got a little game in him. The only thing that could have helped Liggins calm down a little bit and reduce his turnovers was playing time thus gaining experience. Furthermore, it makes it even tougher when 1.) you know before you even get in the game that if you have the slightest slip up you'll be pulled from the game, and 2.) you spent most of the time on the bench playing behind someone you knew you were a better player than. These things can be very tough on a young player, so no wonder he had his mistakes last year, he was under a ton of pressure. If BCG would have just handed the reigns over to him at the beginning of the year and said, DeAndre your running the point, then I promise you would have seen a much improved player by the end of the season. Instead of that however, you got a player with zero confidence, and not enough experience to really help his game. Thank God coach Cal has came along to erase all the negatives out of his system. It would be one of the best things to ever happen to Kentucky basketball to land John Wall (at a point in time in UK history when we need as many studs as we can to get the program back on track), however, if we don't I think we will be better than what some think with Liggins playing in Cal's system.

 

So with all that rambling, I guess you can say I don't blame his thinking, and I am so glad he is on board for next year. :thumb:

This kid, along with Galloway will be STUDS next year. Perfect fit for Coach Cal IMO.

I couldn't agree with this more. My main complaint with either of these players was that they didn't develop any from their first day in the program which IMO is 100% due to poor coaching.

I still wonder how ALL of this bad stuff goes on, and the "sports journalists" do not report it.

 

The only daylight that I have heard about these allegations, are on message boards? What has really been proven or reported. If all is true then Cutler and his cronies, let us all down.

Certainly makes me question how the heck BCG got the job in the first place. Mitch really screwed that up.
