Well It should not matter, but it matters to parents and others as well, young guys will always hear more from parents and stuff that are older than them. It makes it hard to be 20 years younger than parents. Like it or not.

Mark Carroll- East Jessamine DC- He use to be at LCA as the DC and helped led them to the state finals. He has worked/played under several good coaches. Coach Haywood at Belfry, Ron Finley at Cville University, Paul Rains-LCA and Mike Bowlin- East Jessamine. I am a little partial because he is a friend of mine but I feel that he is an up and coming coach!!

Raceland has a staff of head coaches:

Randy Vanhoof - Current Head Coach

T.J. Maynard - Former UK lineman, current DC, past Head Coach at Greenup County, and should be the next Head Coach at Raceland.

Mike Lewis - Forum DC at Ironton, OH, and could be a Head Coach at any High School.

Mike Francis - Could easily be a head coach some day.

Gary Fannin - Young, but could be a head coach some day.

Woods, Pack, and Helton are all quality coaches that could be head coaches some day, time will tell.

Fannin will be a great Head Coach but I don't see him leaving Raceland. I would love to see him be the next HC for the Rams. Do you think TJ will apply at Russell when McGlone retires?

Fannin would be a great Head Coach, and I hope he never leaves, in my opinion the quality of assistant coaches is often overlooked, having so many possible head coaches on one staff, in my opinion, is one large key to a great program.

 

As for Coach Maynard leaving for the future Russell job, you would have to ask him. He seems to like it at Raceland. I am pretty sure Gary Morris will have the first refusal as the next Russell coach, that would open up a DC job. I don't know if Coach Maynard would be interested in that or not. It seems to me, in the past, that coaching your old high school is not normally a good move. Many coaches have tried it, and not been happy, and not stayed long. I, personally, hope that Coach Maynard stays at Raceland and becomes the next Head Coach, when ever it is time.

Bell Co. has a great coaching staff. I don't understand why other schools aren't trying to take advantage of getting an assistant from Bell Co. to build a program with. Coach Mills is doing an excellent job at KC. Coach Greer was a successful head coach when Coach Hilton was gone as well. Bo Calebs is also a fine coach.

 

Guys like Fred Hoskins, Brian Yankee, Randy Frazier, Arthur Carter, Trey Harbin, etc do a great job.

This question is what seperates the good programs from the not so good programs. You look on the sidelines of the quality programs and there are 2 or 3 coaches that could be headcoach somewhere. You look on the sideliness at the other programs and the headcoach is doing everything he can but is by himself with a couple of elementary school coaches helping him.
