Adam Nash and Brent Strong from Walton Verona. Both are young guys who helped in the sucess Walton had in their first season. :thumb:

Weinrich would be a great HC but I dont see him leaving Highlands. I know that he has several offers and has turned them down. I believe he will be named the HC at Highlands after the current HC retires.

I second that about Coach Weinrich. Very good coach and very good guy. In my opinion he will be the next head coach at Highlands.

I've been told Justin Bozeman will join the McCreary Central Staff. He has been a head Coach and will be a good one again.

They then proceeded to fire Arthur and hire Gay.

I think Bozeman is a much better coach than many think.

Bozeman would be a great hire, he really works hard in the weight room and the kids play their tales off for them.

Another good Future Head Coach would be one that McCreary let get away is Coach Chuck Davis. DC at Whitley and Head Track Coach.

Big difference between DC and Head Coach, IMO. Lot's more responsibilities come with the job. There is no doubt he is ALL HHS football, all the time. I would prefer him to prove he has what it takes as a head coach and then come back and get the HHS job when it opens up.

 

I don't think it's a lock he'll get the job when/if it opens up. I'm sure there will be very strong candidates. (then again..he does have a good relationship w/ the athletic director :lol: )

 

Back to the topic..IF he were to venture outside of the hallowed halls of HHS, I think he would be a top candidate for a head coaching job.

Would Highands really hire a head coach with no experience as a head coach?

Why fix what isn't broken. I think he is the Associate Head Coach right now and assists in many of the duties of the head coach. I know the defense is his baby and Mueller basically leaves him alone on that side of the ball. He is a Bluebird through and through and would continue the success. Although if they didn't give it to him they would have applicants lined up all the way across the bridge to Cincy.

I would love to see Eddie Creech groomed for the Harlan County Job.

If I was a principal or AD in Central KY and I had an open coaching position I would definitely look to hire Curtis Cotton. Coach Cotton is currently the Offensive Coordinator at Lexington Christian Academy. He has been an intregal part of LCA becoming an explosive, high octane offense. He is a 16 year coaching veteran and has a wide array of coaching experience. Coach Cotton has been an OC and DC at Henry Clay High School in Lexington. As DC he gave up under 13 points per game in 2006 helping to lead HC to the semi finals. In 2004 as the OC he implemented the spread offense and helped begin what has continued to be an offensive machine at Henry Clay. During 2005 he worked as an assistant at Georgetown College coaching TE and assisiting with the OL while completing his Masters in Special Education. Coach Cotton has coached at Rockcastle, Whitley County, Henry Clay, Georgetown College, and Lexington Christian Academy. If you know anything about the head coaches at those schools then you know he has been groomed by some of the most knowlegeable and highest character coaches in the state. He has multiple playoff wins as an assistant including 2 appearances in the state finals. (Henry Clay in 95, and LCA in 07). He has been a Head Coach for Freshman and JV teams along the way as well as weight room coordinator.

 

I don't know if principals or AD's read this site, but this guy just needs to be given a shot. He has the pedigree, the experience, and the character to build a program in the right way.

Another member of the LCA family has head coach written all over him. Hayes Browning has already been a finalist for 1 head job. It is a matter of time for him. Great defensive mind and 10 years younger than Carrol or Cotton. Rains will have quite a coaching tree!:ylsuper:
