I find it intriguing that when I brought up Pitino's cheating past in the late '80s and early '90s I was roundly dismissed with a wave of the hand by UK fans, and now they're willing to bring it up as extremely relevant.

 

I wonder if my concerns about Mr. Calipari will be equally founded.

Trying to figure out why I should on either count? I find no redeeming values in being a fan of little blue, and to fear, fear what? I do not play the game so I should not fear the players. I do not coach the game, so I cannot fear the Cal. I do not was the jocks or dirty socks, so I cannot fear any other part of the program. I don't use the term "we" or "us" when talking about any team that I never palyed for or coached.

All programs have skeletons in their closet, as do all coaches. Nobody is 100% clean and everybody does some things outside the lines. The smart ones are crafy enough to find a way to insulate themselves from dirty work.

 

Both of these coaches have been successful without being tainted as head coaches. I consider them equals in terms of being clean.

Anything that happened 30 years ago should be dismissed from any current conversation, especially if it was something that happened as an assistant coach. The whole landscape of the sport is different now. If you didn't complain about Pitino's past when he was coaching UK to championships, then you don't have a right to complain now, IMO.

Please....envy what? In my lifetime UK has only been a team to envy for 3 seasons, hardly enough to envy.....

I can't envy stuff that happened before I was born....also I was 8 months old when they won in 1978.....like I said, the only team that I have ever viewed UK as the end all be all was from 1996 - 1998....

Apples and Pianos......if a kid does something like that, he'll get kicked off the team. If a kid takes money from an agent, their lifestyle changes, you kind of notice those things. Besides kids have big mouths, people knew.
