March 31, 200917 yr I just talked to someone close to the basketball program and his direct quote is: "unless Cal jumps the shark, everything is on course and he will soon be announced as the next Kentucky basketball coach." Just heard the same thing. From what folks are saying on campus where my wife works things are moving today.
March 31, 200917 yr I wonder if everyone thinks BCG offering middle schoolers and freshmen schollys at UK was such a good idea now.
March 31, 200917 yr I'm unfamiliar with the phrase "jumps the shark" Once I stayed in the downtown Chicago Hyatt, and while checking in the guy had a walkie talkie and it blasted that there is a "shark attack" in room @$%. I asked what that meant, and he said it was nicer way to say that the toliet is stopped up. So, John....don't be doing any throne jumping today.
March 31, 200917 yr One source said that a sticking point is the issue of honoring offers to the underclassmen. Supposedly Cal said only one is UK-caliber.
March 31, 200917 yr He is at his favorite donut shop right now, according to memphis radio. He had to go just one last time. :thumb:

March 31, 200917 yr I'm not too worried.. The big hang up (as said before) I think he doesn't want Memphis to be left empty handed. Ultimately he wants to be here. It will happen.
March 31, 200917 yr I'm unfamiliar with the phrase "jumps the shark" Google it, it's a reference to the Happy Days episode when the Fonz "jumps the shark", this signifies now when a TV series has gotten stale and not worthwhile, it has "jumped the shark." At least that is what I think it is anyway.
March 31, 200917 yr I'm unfamiliar with the phrase "jumps the shark" It refers to an episode of "Happy Days" where Fonzi jumped a shark in his boots and leather jacket on skis. It was a sign the end of the show was here and there were no more good story lines so the notion of "jumping the shark" was so unexpected it bombed. The show all but died soon after.
March 31, 200917 yr I wish I had a counter on my refresh button. I've spent more time refreshing than I have reading the last 3 days. Seriously, the green paint is starting to fade and I think the button is stuck.
