March 31, 200917 yr Definitely gonna say some prayers tonight.. Pretty sure God has bigger things on his plate than UK's coach.
March 31, 200917 yr I have heard several people say that the reason it is taking so long is that he wants to make sure that he leaves Memphis in good hands. From what I have been told he is pushing really hard for a long time assistant to get the job. Andy Katz said that he was leaning toward UK when he went to sleep last night.
March 31, 200917 yr Author Pretty sure God has bigger things on his plate than UK's coach. God can do anything, big or small.
March 31, 200917 yr I'm still skeptical, but he better, because I don't know if there will be enough help around to pick up the pieces. :lol:I'll be here to help,
March 31, 200917 yr Memphis can match, and better the money. That won't be the issue. I don't think it is all about the money now. I think he wants this challenge to leave a legacy behind that he saved Kentucky basketball.
March 31, 200917 yr The holdup isn't whether or not he is going to take the UK coaching job. He will. The holdup is him wanting to make sure that Memphis is left in good hands after he leaves. But, I will feel a whole lot better when I see that press conference and him in a UK coaches polo!:thumb:
March 31, 200917 yr I agree with iceking. I am optimistic that he will take the job at UK, but I am not going to drop dead if he says no. I am wondering if his reason for the delay is wanting his successor to Memphis to be a good one.
March 31, 200917 yr Barring a complete disaster, Calipari will be annoucned officially as the coach today. It isn't about money (thank God). It is about power and prestige at one of the top 5 jobs in the country. I am being told that the decision has already been made, but he is making sure that Memphis makes a good hire for its program.

March 31, 200917 yr Would you happen to know what time this would happen? All I know is that everyone is prepared and ready to go. They are just waiting for the phone to ring. I fully expect it to be this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

Sounds like you are a little more worried than before. Am I reading that right? I am sure, like you, that he is going to be announced today. But the longer this goes the more unsure I am.
March 31, 200917 yr We haven't had an update from Game Time in a while..... Give it up GT.... Whats your latest???
March 31, 200917 yr Sounds like you are a little more worried than before. Am I reading that right? I am sure, like you, that he is going to be announced today. But the longer this goes the more unsure I am. I'm not really nervous, but I assumed it would be wrapped up yesterday. I didn't expect him to pull out the 'ole "sleep on it" card. I'm trying to see what I can find out right now.

March 31, 200917 yr Oh 5wide. You're killing me Mr. Doom and Gloom. He's coming. If I say it enough, it will happen.
