Any changes in 10th Region coaching corners.....

Featured Replies

Doubt anyone would. Doubt he would either. He would have to win ALL A Region and 20 games to satisfy. Good luck to who ever is chosen.

Would think that the Bracken County coaching job would be one of the best,if not the best 10th Region A school jobs to have not only next year, but for many years. There's lots of talent, height, etc. to contend for the All A for many years. Good classes in place and more on the way.

With Brossart in the All A they present a very tough road block for anybody.

SF 8,000 is the maximum anybody in this state is making I would venture to guess as a stipend for coaching. Now I have nto seen all salary schedules in the state but those that I know only one is on a percentage......the rest are on straight amounts.

I know from personal experience that there are coaches that make more then 12,000 a year. Some schools pay 20,000 a year. I am not speculating, I know for sure. I would be happy to tell you personally if you desire more info.

The Bears are right there, trust me.

If Bracken Co. is going to hire within its own system then Chad Persinger should be the leading candidate for the Bracken Co. job. He was the most qualified last year and still is this year. Absolutely no question about it.:thumb:

Don't quite understand how you can say that. If you look at the teams he has actually been successful with you will find that they were all coached by other coaches for 2 or 3 years prior to him coaching them. If you ask most of the kids he has coached you will probably find very few who can say they learned anything from him. If he was that good, he would work on developing these kids as a team, not just working with 2 or 3 players. Middle school is where your fundamental work is the most important and it is not worked on in BC. If it was, our high school teams would be better!! BC needs to look elsewhere for a better candidate. One actually applied last year and was overlooked. Bracken's AD needs to wake up before she ruins BC basketball.

Would Jamie Johnson at Deming be interested in the Bracken job? I believe he has ties to the area.

Dad is superintendent and lives about 6-8 houses from the school. I guess that would classify as ties.:D

While we all love kids and hope that they do well. Let us call a spade a spade. We cannot give players all the credibility when they are talking about their own development or their coaches abilities. Players really are incapapble of that level of perception. You can find two players from the same team whom have two different opinions. Please do not assume that the players know what they are talking about just because it is their coach or their teacher.

Just because they are kids doesn't mean they aren't smart enough to know if they learned anything under him. I would think the opinion of past players would count for something. It's hard to play for someone if you don't respect them as a coach. Been there done that. If he was that qualified looks like they would have come to him and asked him to step up. Maybe the administration knows that 8th grade to head varsity is too big a jump.

Lets not take Brad Cox out of the PC coaching staff. He would make a great coach but lets not give any ideals for PC to loose him.Lets hope he stays where he is at.

IMO, I don't think Coach Johnson is ready to leave just yet, stranger things have happened, But let me throw out a couple of other names. How about Aaron Massey or Jason Hinson, both played at Bracken County, it would be ideal for a young coach to comeback and coach at his alma mater. Just thought I throw that out there.:idunno:

Hinson is one heck of a coach.

First of all Coach Hinson would give his left arm to coach at the school where he played. If he was to apply they would look right over him!!!

Really hate to say it, but I agree 100%

I've made this observation before. Not pointing fingers or naming names; it appears that girls' sports are on the rise at Bracken County and boys' sports are on the decline.

What were the records of each this past season?
