Any changes in 10th Region coaching corners.....

Featured Replies

Actually at the HS level Chad Persinger has no experience at all. Much different beast coaching HS rather then junior high or middle school, trust me on that! Not saying he could not handle it, but it is different.

As for who THEY are, I mean those in charge @ Bracken County in their hiring process. Which I believe is done w/the AD/Principal and the Site Based Council. I know for a fact that the Superintendent has nothing to do w/the hiring @ BCHS!

The THEY(site base council) that you are referring to have not even been notified of anything so do not believe you are correct in your statement.

What is that supposed to mean?

I would like to know how you can say he has over achieved.

I agree and PK has only a little over 1 year of high school experience with the girls and I feel that is still a big difference than coaching a boys program. Why are people afraid to give Persinger a chance? He excels with every program that he is involved whether it is HS softball or middle school basketball.

I do not know Coach Persinger. I do know Patrick Kelsch. If Coach Persinger is the best available, qualified, interested, dedicated candidate then he should receive the opportunity to coach the Polar Bears.

There are a lot of intangibles that go into being a successful head coach and I think that Coach Kelsch qualifies in all areas. I would entrust my program to him, knowing that I was going to get absolutely 100% effort, dedication, and commitment from him, and that he would create a very positive chemistry between himself, his players, the administration, and his fans.

We all learn things by attending the school of hard knocks. I'm one of its prime alums. If you are committed, dedicated, continue to learn as you go and can run a fundamentally-sound, well-disciplined program, you are going to succeed. Being a good fit is a big part of the job and PK would be a great fit.

Just to let you know Persinger has had JV and Assistant Varsity boys experience under Coach McKinney and Coach Fisher.

Kind of torn here, would like for Bracken County to go for the experienced varsity Coach(a name like Biggs,Simms,Starns, etc), because the program needs stability, but would they stay like a local coach would? Has Stacy Florer's name been mentioned for the varsity job? He's worked under Hammonds,Fite and Breeze, is local and feel he would do a tremendous job. He did extremely well with the freshman team this past season. Give him a chance BC. Does he have to be a teacher?

No disrespect to your opinion but I do know Coach Persinger and Coach Kelsch and you could insert Coach Persinger's name in every where you used Coach Kelsch's name. Coach Kelsch has done a good job with the girls program but as someone alittle more familiar with this situation I would still say Coach Persinger is the most qualified person to lead the boys program.

Chad Persinger is the man for that job. He used to coach jv basketball, so I believe that gives him some experience at the high school level. Also he definitely isnt going to leave Bracken County either. He is a Polar Bear for life.

I do not know who they will hire or who would be the best person for the job. One thing for sure they will have their hands full. Too many people besides the coach have imput

on how to run the program.

Brad Cox at Pendleton County is a fine young assistant that is going to make someone a nice head coach. Would be a good fit at Bracken County.

Chad Persinger and Patrick Kelsch are fine young men and coaches that also would be good hires.

The girls side would be sorely disappointed to lose Coach Kelsch, the man of a 1,000 picture avatars.

Who ever applies for the job should know that its only a part time job. Seems to me they only hire part time help, then let them go.

I agree. Unless theres a Deal in the Making with a family member being hired here in Bracken Co. To hire as the :isurrender:coach, Maybe site base will answer that question

I believe the last 3 coaches were all out of towner's

Site Base will make that decision or will they ? or Superintendent, Who fired the BC coach last Friday anyone know for sure. Looks like they just used him as a stepping stone..:ohbrother:

Which coaches mention in this thread that would be good hires are " out of towner's"? I am not real familiar with some of the names listed.

Tubby Cat stated that it was more than wins & losses, it started with Coach Breeze's teaching position.

His teaching position was cut, but from what I was told today he has not resigned as coach yet nor was he fired. Will there be a coaching change, more than likely. I don't know to many high school basketball coaches that can live off of their 8,000-12,000 dollar stipend for coaching.

So can Stacy Florer coach varsity basketball or not since he is not a teacher? Everyone always throws around Persinger's name when this position always opens, but clearly think Coach Florer is the most talented Coach in the system now
