If Breeze ends up leaving, I wonder who they'll bring in?

For the kids sake, it would be nice that Coach Reitz commit to coaching another four to five years. Harrison has young kids committed to playing basketball and not as concerned about other sports. Basketball as the #1 priority would refresh the batteries for Reitz!

I highly doubt basketball will ever be the #1 priority in Harrison County.

Basketball doesn't need to be the #1 priority to be successful, just look at the run Louisville Central made with guys that already had a state championship in football. I think you need kids that are committed to the sport that is in season and getting better overall.

Harrison Co. has a little less than 1,000 students and the community has faded since tobacco has been cut out and Louisville Central has a population of 1300-1600 students in high school. Basketball is not the #1 priority in Pendleton Co., Mason Co., and Clark Co.???

I heard previously he was leaving on his own, but I also heard this last night.

Depends on who they get to replace Mac as baseball coach when he hangs the spikes up.

Who ever applies for the job should know that its only a part time job. Seems to me they only hire part time help, then let them go.

I don't know about the "part time job" thing but they have to do a better job of hiring the best man for the job.:thumb:

Mason yes, Soccer is big in Pendleton, and Baseball/Football are big in Clark...so no, one specific sport doesn't have to be the #1 priority for you to be successful.

Just 3 years ago...(2006) Central's enrollment was 983 with only 333 males. I don't know where the 1300-1600 comes from...remember they are 3A in football. That is the same size as Mason and smaller than Harrison, Pendleton, and GRC.

Khsaa.org has Central with an enrollment of 1000

Bracken County REALLY needs to take this hiring of a basketball coach a little more seriously! They need to get it right!

They need to hire someone who is willing to live in the community, be a part of the community, work with the kids, run an elementary basketball program, be involved with the middle school program, have some pride in their job!

That person is out there, if you interview and search, and do the necessary background checks to see that who you hired is really who they say they are!

I heard a rumor that they may want Lady Bears coach Patrick Kelsch to head up the boys program! Like I said, just a rumor.
