Any changes in 10th Region coaching corners.....

Featured Replies

The reason it hasn't been posted is because the job isn't open yet.

I was told breeze's teaching position was cut but he hasn't resigned from the basketball job yet and he wasn't fired, his teaching position was cut. It is all speculation to this point and just a matter of time before it is official. If he has the option to stay on as coach or not I don't know the bylaws. I would assume he can't stay on and coach being he is a teacher and 70 % or so of his salary was cut.

I am hearing the new coach will come from the 9th region.

How conveinient, I don't see how the current AD could get anyone to take the job.

The girls side would be sorely disappointed to lose Coach Kelsch, the man of a 1,000 picture avatars.

It's about time for a new avatar, don't you think? If Tiger wins the Masters, maybe we'll get one. Kinda' surprised we haven't seen one w/ him alongside Mitch Barnhart & Lee Todd. :D

Unbelievable, we agree on more things than not I believe PR, except the one topic I will not mention.

I stand by my statement, advantage but no guarantee, and we'll leave it at that:lol: Good to meet you during the region tournament.

Would Jamie Johnson at Deming be interested in the Bracken job? I believe he has ties to the area.

Also ties to the administration at BC.

First of all the administration at Bracken (or one in particular) at the board office will never allow Persinger to be hired for any high level coaching position.

Second if Coach Breeze is getting 8-12 thousand for his coaching stipend as someone mentioned earlier he would be the highest paid basketball coach in the state. Try 5,000 maximum is his stipend.

Third maybe Daniel Fisher should coach again and that way at least the adminsitration would be on board......unless of course Mr. Ray wants the job.

It's not unrealistic to think that a high school coach could get paid $8,000 - $12,000. Some schools pay based on a percentage of the coach's teaching salary ... some as much as 20%!!! At that percentage, if a teacher makes $40,000 (which with years experience, rank I, etc is not out of the question), he'd get $8,000 for coaching.

Some schools do just set a dollar amount and give increment raises each year. One NKY school I know pays only $4,000 to the head coach with $250 raises each year he/she is there.

SF 8,000 is the maximum anybody in this state is making I would venture to guess as a stipend for coaching. Now I have nto seen all salary schedules in the state but those that I know only one is on a percentage......the rest are on straight amounts.

There are coaches in the state that make more than 8,000 for coaching. In larger districts and higher profile programs the coaches make more than 8,000 a year because the school makes money off the program. Think about this; if your gym seats anywhere from 2,500 to 3,500 and the charge is 5 dollars a head how much money is made if you fill up the gym just 50% of your home games?

Tiger this is my last statement on this because we are getting off topic.....but that has nothing to do with coaches salaries.....further money made from those programs goes to other areas of athletics

goahead; I undertand it is off topic, but I was just responding to the post. Your right the money does go other programs, but money also goes to the district as well. To get back on topic, what does Bracken County return next year?

Why wouldnt they hire him, Does he know something on some one, are they Holding a grudge ??? Fisher has bigger fish to fry then A coaching job.

Doe anyone know other than Persinger that would take the job?

Doe anyone know other than Persinger that would take the job?

Doubt anyone would. Doubt he would either. He would have to win ALL A Region and 20 games to satisfy. Good luck to who ever is chosen.

Fisher and "fish to fry" is kind of a funny analogy since the "frying" is something Fisher loves to do.
