March 23, 200917 yr I just like what each of them have to offer. I liked Pearl he seems like a pretty good coach thats plays up-temp and he also seems to like the dramatics of college basketball. Plus I have heard him talk about UK many times in a positive way. I know I'm in the minority.

Seriously, it's going to be hard to find a quality coach to come to UK because of the fans and the unrealistic expectations. I know we don't want to be in the NIT but every so often teams fall off before going back on a 10 to 12 year run but our fans can't take that and will call for the coach to be fired and start posting nasty things about them and start silly petitions. I would stay in Memphis if i were Calipari!

A great arena, a good fan base in a pro/college town (meaning not a lot of headache), he is getting any recruit he wants, etc. All he has to do is schedule a couple of good teams in Nov./Dec. (finish above .500 against them) and then run off 20 or so in a row in CUSA and get a 1 or 2 seed. Seems like a good deal to me.

March 23, 200917 yr Optimistic much? Well, Calipari has proved that he can recruit with the best, and to me he sells his program better than any other coach in the country. And let's face it, before he got to Memphis, I could only name you on former player-Penny-and I'd say I'm not the only one. Imagine Calipari selling Kentucky Basketball, the program with the most wins in College Basketball history, 13 Final Fours, 30 Elite 8's, 10 National Title game appearances with 7 titles, to John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, OJ Mayo, Chris Paul, Sebastian Telfair, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Michael Beasley, or anyother recruit in the country that is top 10. Sure, he will probably get a handful of them because he's such a good recruiter, but having Kentucky on the front of your Jersey would only sweeten the pot.
March 23, 200917 yr Where do you come up with this stuff? Well, Brandan Wright had Kentucky Wall Paper growing up as a kid, Hansbrough had was a strong UK lean until the day he signed with UNC and Brandon Rush was a strong UK lean until the 11th hour when he switched and signed with Kansas.
