I believe Frankfort and Raceland scrimmage on August 22nd? If this is true, this could be a good gauge for both teams ultimate goals of upsetting to two heavy favorites in 1A.

Some other Mayfield fans can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe we only lost 1 starter from last years team and he was our best defensive player. We return our starting QB who threw for around 2000 yds and our starting back who ran for at least around 1200+ yds I believe. We got a good incoming class who may be able to relieve us on the defensive side of the ball and possibly in our running game as well. I look for Mayfield to be tough but you can't call em a top 10 at this point.

Just some inspiration... Players see these top 10 polls and tend to slack off during spring practices.

Same for Mayfield. Should be top 10.

If Mayfield has a decent line and they get better over the season plus we have some outstanding young talent on the way, Mayfield can make some noise. Its too soon too say for now but I have high hopes for the season but I think in 10 we make a serious run.

We had 12 seniors last year and I think 8 or 9 of them started last year. We lose 2 on the line, a fullback, 1 receiver, nose guard, 1 defensive end, 2 or 3 linebackers and 1 DB. There could be more.

They lost 2 of there 3 best skill position players, they're RB/LB and LB/TE/FB. Last years QB which was a dual threat is moving to TB and a JR to be who is a more pure passer is stepping to be the QB. Local expectations are high and expecting to repeat as Regional Champions, barring injuries

It is going to be tough to beat Beechwood this year.

They are at the top of class A football year in and year out.
