Cameraman Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 (edited) This was too good of a game to not have a thread... Let's try to keep it clean this time. Pleeeease! Edited March 21, 2009 by Cameraman
Wyrostek Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Games are won and lost on the basketball court. Talk is cheap. The better team won.
Wireman Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 The team that scored the most points won. Good job by Holmes - best of luck tonight.
kywldcat01 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Great job Bulldogs. Now bring that big trophy back to NKY!!
NHS BIG DADDY Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Great job bulldogs. Way to lock them down and move on. Great season for EC. I'd kill for my old school to enjoy a run like you guys have had the past 3 years. Before the tourney I thought that the best player and coach in the sweet sixteen were Dave Henley and Ricardo Johnson and thats the big reason I thought the bulldogs would take home the hardware. I think they have proven that so far.
eccheer Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Congratulations Holmes . . . bring home the big TROPHY!! Thanks to all the Rupp fans that supported and encouraged our team. It almost brought me to tears to see 2/3 of Rupp arena boo-ing in unison which is a true testament to our boys. This was the final high school game for J. Ferguson, Et. Faulkner, Ev. Faulkner, C. Knipp, J. Flannery and J. Morgan. I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them for making the last 4 years such a treat. They are all wonderful kids and well deserving of the support and recognition they've received. It was also the final game for our senior cheerleaders (A. Dickerson, S. Daniels, M. Dennis, C. Turner, H. Kinster, K. Stamper, W. Pennington) who deserve our congratulations on bringing home the First Place Trophy for the cheerleading competition. You ended your season with the biggest win possible. CONGRATULATIONS ELLIOTT SENIORS!!!!!! I'm already going into withdrawl!!!!

shooterx3 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Congrautlations to Holmes, they were the better team this morning. Homes and Central may be the two best coached teams in the tournament. Looking for Holmes to pull out the championship in the 4th quarter.

There were many heated battles between the fans of these two teams, but It has ended with class and mutual respect! Congrats to Elliott for a very special season! You guys made the whole region extremely proud.
scorekeeper Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 It's great that, despite talk before the game, EC and Holmes fans seem to be well behaved. Both are passionate--that's for sure. So far I am proud of my school's fans for not being sore losers--after the game nor now. Most seem to accept the outcome of the game for what it was: two great teams fighting for another game. I was happy to see the Holmes kids (and adults) clap for Elliott upon presentation of their trophy. Classy! I'm gonna miss basketball! Only 8 more months until next season. Go Elliott!
Flotsam Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Excellent game. Congratulations to the Lions for a great season. Pittman and Ricardo were not to be denied.
shooterx3 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 So much for Holmes pulling away in the 4th quarter. Central has to be the most underated team in this tournament. How did they have 14 losses? WOW Still Looking for Ricardo to win this thing in overtime He is the front runner for Mr Basketball 2010 right now
