I doubt anyone at Harrison got cut 7000, maybe lost some extended days to get paid a base salary from what I understand.

How much did the head coach make to start with if he got cut $7000? That is not much more than alot of head coaches make to start with.

 

A new stadium looks like alot of support to me. I would assume that it cost alot of money and in these hard times I would think that they could have done just fine withthe old stadium, it was better than alot of schools.

They could not have gone any longer with the old stadium it was condemned in areas I believe.

I can't believe the baseball team is questioning support and crying for more... The football stadium was built in the late 1940's or early 1950's and the baseball field received new fences, grassed infield and new dugouts in the fall of 1984 and then the dugouts have been done over since then. The comparison is 60 years vs. 25 years??? Neither one is good for KIDS from a facility standpoint. Having a new basketball gym sure would be nice... Maybe 2 or 3 gyms and maybe they could incorportate an indoor hitting faciltiy for both girls and boys softball/baseball. Then we would all be happy...

Nobody from the baseball team is doing any crying for support. They go out and work for what they have and always have done so. When the weight room was built, it was never taken care of, it was never cleaned, and there was no control over who was in it and when. This is not a baseball vs football issue. It's just that when the football team did get something it was not taken good care of. The baseball team got a lot of their new stuff due to some wind damage last year prior to the opening game.

 

Sure, we need more gym space and we need that so that our youth leagues can improve thus helping our high school team. The football team does have a place to change, they don't have to stand in the bathroom , dugout or beside their car to change into their uniform for a game. The baseball and softball teams have to come dressed to play or change in a bathroom or port-a-potty or just change inside or beside their cars. It's such a shame that the facilities at Harrison County have been far surpassed by lesser programs and smaller schools.

Only 7-10 applicants. Three local applicants and some of the other applicants have previous 1-2 years (short term) coaching experience. The community might as well ready itself for someone with little experience and I'm not saying that'll be a negative. Hopefully it'll be someone that'll embrace the community and get involved in building a solid feeder program. If not, we're in trouble and we'll experience several down years, because some of the good athletes are not playing football in the middle school.

Thats what I had heard as well. The Harrison County feeder program is very weak and has been for years in my opinion. And, you are correct in saying that many of the better athletes who could play football, don't. Experience has to start somewhere, so a new inexperienced coach could be a plus, especially if they are open minded and energetic about getting kids at all levels involved in playing football.

No current head coaches have applied? This sounds really strange comming from a very respected program. Has things hit that hard at rock bottom in Cynthiana?

If they are lacking quality applicants and need stability why don't they approach Ray Graham to come back and work out the disagreements concerning his departure. He is Harrison County football. If there is a 100 day contract to be had over there he deserves it.
