Harrison Co. is better off with out stepp and in one year Franklin Co will see why

Aaron Stepp is a mistake. He talks a good game but he can not back it up and in

2 or 3 years he will be gone from Franklin.CO.. To the fans he will not let you be part

of your football team. ( and this was told to his face)

 

Have talked to some Football Supporters in Clay Co. They're glad he is gone. Just said no tears shed when he moved on.

I heard that because of the buget cuts Harrison was going to cut 2 of his coaches. So that was a big reason he left.

Yeah, but Stepp never really did much at Clay. IMO Stepp is a user. He tries to get decent teams, have a good year and move. He cannot sustain a program, and I feel sorry for Franklin Co. that they hired a guy who may not be there very long.

 

You may have a point there but that is what coaches do. Look at the college ranks. Coaches start as position coaches, become coordinators, move to head coaching positions in smaller schools. When they have success they build a resume. When opportunities come along they take that resume and move up. This opens doors for new coaches to move in and do the same. Coaches move up the ranks until they are in a program where they can be really competitive. This doesn't say that the previous jobs were bad or the kids were bad. It is just a natural part of the "coaching business". There are few high school coaches out there who can say that if given the chance they wouldn't Leave their current jobs for a chance to take a job like Beachwood, Breathitt, Highlands, St. X, Trinity,. If they say they won't its because they have significant community ties which prohibit them from making the move. In business, if a person tries to better their situation, make more money, have a better quality of life, we call them a go getter. In coaching we call them a user or a turncoat. However, if you think about it it is the same thing.

I'm not sure who will get the coaching job, but I expect several applicants. I think Holmes also moves into the Harrison, Pendleton, Bourbon and Franklin district this year if I am not mistaken.

You will notice Franklins Counties schedule will get a lot easier during the second year and he will take alot of good teams off the schedule. In Harrison Co. he took Marion Co., Rockcastle Co., Lexington Catholic off the schedule. Now Harrison will be playing teams like Paris. I do not think Paris and Harrison are in the same league.

I dont think you can fault him for taking off LexCath, more than anything, because them being in the same region and playing in the playoffs is very likely (like last year).

 

Did he "Drop" Rock and Marion or was it just a conflict of scheduling from both schools? What is their non district schedule next year while that topic is being brought up?:confused:

Did the coach taking another job make you change your mind ? How does he go from being a good coach to now being someone you dislike?

I would say the reason for not playing Marion and Rock was the travel distance.

But you did not post that he was a good coach a year ago, you posted that he was a good coach in February when people were talking about the Harrison County team for next year.

 

The point is, in less than a month your coach went from being a good coach to being a coach you dislike who has no personality? :confused:

I would say that most coaches try to schedule as many games they can win! But, no win is a given.
