I know that Heath, Lone Oak, and Reidland are consolidating? What is Muhlenburg North and South doing? THis is a much tougher job than people realize?

I've hit a bit of a roadblock, and haven't had a chance to revisit it since Thursday night. I'm doing mine as a look out 3-5 years in the future, incorporating the above consolidations you mention, as well as the addition of some new schools.

I've heard that Scott County will at some point expand to two schools. Has that entered into your calculations?

I throw Livingston Central and Lyon County into the first, and then Muhlenberg County, Todd County Central and possibly McLean County into the second. Because of that, the third gets really difficult. It would be a good opportunity for a couple western Kentucky private schools to join the KHSAA!

UKYBBALL Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 The KHSAA and board of control has changed their minds on 3 team districts. They use to not want them. Now with all the consolidation, the KHSAA does not mind three team districts. You will more than likely see Fleming Co. and Lawrence Co. move regions next year.

Rainman11 Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Second high school is currently under construction but it is a Technical School and no gym is being put on the property. The thought in Scott County is this will be the second high school in the next 10 years.
sportsmaniac Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 I have a complete redistricting plan complete. 38 teams change regions! 3rd Region was the toughest: Here are some of the main thoughts i used: 1st thing was all schools from the same county were put into the same Region, maybe not district but region. This affected the 9th and 10th regions the most. 2nd basis used was Geography. I am sure i messed up in a couple of spots because of not knowing exact locations of schools in each county. I will be glad to share total plan if anyone would like to see: Biggest Changes: Franklin County Schools moved to 8th out of 11th; Bullitt Co schools moved out of 6th to 5th; All Campbell County schools moved to 10th; 9th Region now all Kenton County and Boone County; Clark County, Paris, and Bourbon now in 11th
The Scribe Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 They are just going to have to do away with districts and let everyone compete in the regional tournament. Play first round games on site play the QF, SF, and F at one site like they do now.
sportsmaniac Posted March 15, 2009 Author Posted March 15, 2009 A couple of other notes from my plan: The 9th Region has 18 teams, no other region has more than 17. Rockcastle back to the 13th. Adair Co, Green Co, and Hart Co all move to the 4th. Franklin-Simpson, Logan Co, and Russellville move to 3rd. Both Muhlenburgs, Mclean, and Todd Counties all move to 2nd. Livingston Central and Lyon Co move to 1st. Montgomery County moved to 16th
