March 11, 200917 yr The thing that keeps hanging me up is the money issues and her apparently writing checks to herself from the back of the his checkbook. That's theft in my book. Don't know what to think about the internet searches about the Bosley killing either. Many people did it but how many later killed their spouse?
March 11, 200917 yr The abused wife thing doesn't work for me, they can leave. She shot him in cold blood, he was asleep. Regardless of rather there was abuse going on or not, I can't see only having to serve 20% of the sentence. That's nowhere close to justice. Our system is really screwed up. Call me what you want...but if she was a member of my family and had been physically beaten, she wouldn't have to worry about leaving. It would be arranged for him to leave in a way he wouldn't find very pleasant. I don't see anything wrong about killing him in his sleep (IF he had physically abused her, I have no clue, as I know neither of them or the specifics of the case). Maybe that was her only opportunity to escape. In essence it's the same as someone shooting their captors if they have been taken captive. You take the opportunity when it presents itself.
March 11, 200917 yr Not being in the house, you or anyone else cannot say definitively what did or did not happen. You can rely only on hearsay and conjecture. If holding to the truth is a tired path, I'll take the tired path every time. Fortunately, the situation is now in the past, and we can move past this ugliness. How do you know what the "truth" is? I'm relying on eyewitnesses who saw her come into work with a black eye. Could she have fallen ? Sure. She could also have had a big flying duck hit in the face. Of course she wouldn't have told people not to ask if a duck hit her.

When I married her I pretty much conceded that it was OUR money and not mine. That was a lame take by Snodgrass to go that route. Deep down I think Snodgrass knew what the outcome was going to be on this and that she couldnt get her on Murder 1.
March 11, 200917 yr The abused wife thing doesn't work for me, they can leave. I disagree with you that they can leave. These women are so scared of these guys they will do what they say no matter what they do to them. Guys like this have power over these women that is why they stay. You have heard many many times the woman leaves then the bf or husbend kills her anyway. Then they end up killing them if they do leave or stay. Before anyone goes on and says I have no clue what I'm talking about my older sister was in 2 absusive relationships. One was a marriage the other was a relationship. Men who beat women won't hit a man because their a coward and a wuss! They know a man will hit them back!

I agree with you. Does anyone remember the true movie "The Burning Bed" with Farrah Fawcett? If this is true she got abused then this was the only chance she got to take the opportunity.
March 11, 200917 yr I'm sure you didn't mean to be offensive with the ET comment, but I can tell you that to some, it would seem you're trivializing BWS.You're right, I didn't mean to be offensive. I just don't think there is any excuse for killing someone while they sleep. We don't even know for sure that BWS was part of this or not. Regardless, it's no reason to do what she did and 20% of the sentence is not justice.

That still is no excuse to kill someone while they sleep. They can leave, they need to understand that.
March 11, 200917 yr I agree that men who beat women are cowards of the worst kind. That still is no excuse to kill someone while they sleep. They can leave, they need to understand that. I'm not disagreeing that killing someone as they sleep is right. But, I'm vehemently disagreeing with the "they can leave, they need to understand that" part of your statement. I urge you to go to your local women's shelter and volunteer. I urge you to do some investigation into Battered Women Syndrome. It's not as simple as you are seeing it. Please, do look into it.

If you abandon the home, that is prima facie evidence to be used against you in a custody battle. Does she take the kids? Change schools? How does she get money? And the "there are programs" response doesn't cut it. There is no duty to retreat in Kentucky and I know you agree with that law. If he was awake and the abuse was occurring, I know that you would be in favor of her blowing him away. So what we are arguing is the fine line of temporal proximity to the abuse occurring. If you are her, and you KNOW that when he awakes you are going to be beaten, you KNOW the police won't help until AFTER an event, and your children are in the next room and you're not going to leave them, will you not concede that there are some emotional and mental states that would cause one to take care of business before he awoke?

This is the best comment in the thread so far. No one wants to be in her situation and no one wants to feel that this is their only option. When faced with the fact that you are going to lose your family and life as you know it, either way you decide............man, it's horrible.

Deep down I think Snodgrass knew what the outcome was going to be on this and that she couldnt get her on Murder 1. I turn my check over and we have one account. I know many other couples that run 2 seperate accounts. I personaly feel that if you can't share one check book there is a lack of trust. Snodgrass did a great job and I'm guessing she is satisfied with the outcome.

OK, so go ahead and kill them in their sleep? Is that what you're telling me here? I think not. If a woman stays after one beating, it makes no sense to me. There's your proof right there, get a restraining order and take the kids and go. Don't stay for beating after beating.
