Gonna have to go with Frasier on this. But, to be fair, I never really watched Cheers.

Saying Frasier is better than Cheers is kind of like saying a cover song is better than the original. It only happens in the rarest of rare circumstances, and this ain't one of them.

I love them both! It's hard to decide. I think that Frasier had some better scripts, but it's hard to beat the characters from Cheers!

Agreed. I would take it a step farther and say that many of the Frasier scripts were more "intellectual", but that overall, Cheers had a more notable cast. Cheers gets my vote, in a close call.

Cheers. Woody: "What's going on Mr. Peterson?" Norm: "It's not what's going on Mr. Peterson, it's what going in Mr. Peterson."

"It's a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milk bone underwear. "

Cheers and this one isn't even close.

My wife and I watch Frasier every night at midnight. It is our favorite. Cheers is great but Woody and I have a little grudge against each other so I have to vote for Frasier.

Cheers, another no brainer for me. I could not stand Frasier.

Only on BGP can you find a person who actually not only has met said Woody but also has had to "debate" him.

Very impressive.

Cheers, no question about it.

How in the world does M*A*S*H not make your list???? It was a million times better than Happy Days, and I would argue it's the greatest TV show of all time.

For the purpose of this thread, Cheers, by a landslide. I do agree that both Cheers and Frasier are awesome shows, but spin offs always lose their fervor with me, right or wrong. The only sequel that ever owned up to the original for me was the Rocky series, but again, those are movies, not T.V comedies.

I have my comedy list to read;

1. M*A*S*H

2. Seinfield

3. Cosby

4. Cheers

5. Mary Tyler Moore

Cheers. One of my all time favorite scenes is where Norm and Cliff slowly realize that they had got tatoos on their butts while drunk.

Cheers.
