Do you seriously think that Duvall, Jones, or Holland would leave their schools to go to Walton? Duvall is from Owen County. Jones is from Gallatin County. And Holland has a pretty good thing going on at Henry County.

What does that have to do with Walton hiring a new head coach? No - Walton's 7th grade team didn't win state nor did they make it to the final four. They realize that the season was a total failure because of it. Unfortunately all they did this year was go 31 -1 and ONLY make it to the round of 16 at 7th grade state. Oh and they were also, without a doubt, the best 7th grade team from Northern Kentucky.

 

That statement is worth a debate, and BTW.............it always helps to have a kid on your team that was held back specifically for basketball. Don't beat your drum to loudly, it might burst! :puke:

Walton 7th was one of the top 5 teams in the middle school state. I am not from Walton or anywhere near Walton but they will win a regional tournament if they stay together. Great kids and great players, this bunch is special. This is a really good job for somebody.

Respect your opinion, but respectfully disagree. They had a very easy draw at state, and lost to the first quality team they played. I really hope you don't they think they were better than Crosby...............IMO they lose to Crosby by 16-20. FYI..............I was at state, so I am not just throwing darts here.

Should be fun to watch this group as I havent seen them play yet. However, a lot can happen in the next 4-5 yrs. Don't crown em yet.

I believe they need to have the position posted for a predetermined period of time (e.g. 30 days). If that's the case, then I wouldn't anticipate any major revelations this month.

Not true for coaching positions

It has to be posted if there is a teaching job being created with it (I think that is how it reads).. A coaching position is considered an extra-duty and does not have to be posted... (I may be wrong but I think that is how it goes)

N.KY parents for the most part don't hold back their kids.....and that's one of the reason's we don't have many (1) state championships. It's common place in other areas of KY. You can sit there and throw up your arms and get upset about. Nothing wrong with it...no rules have been broken....just can't turn 19 by Aug 1st of your senior year.

Twins from Twenhoffel (sp?) at the state tourney were 15 in the 8th grade, and numerous others. Don't know where that fallacy that NKY doesn't hold back kids came from. Perhaps they don't hold them back but there were/are plenty of kids who were 15 in the 8th grade (maybe started later) from NKY as well as the rest of the state. Parents are taking advantage of that for more reasons than basketball, but to claim it doesn't happen in NKY won't hold water.

The 9th, 7th, and 4th grade teams are very strong teams. Walton has always had very good guards....when they had a couple of good big guys they have produced strong teams.

IMO they wouldn't have lost to Crosby. Just because Conner couldn't handle Crosby's pressure doesn't mean that Walton wouldn't have. FYI......I was at state, so I'm not just throwing darts either.

 

Three Rivers, IMO, is the only other 7th grade team in Northern Kentucky that would have played with Walton and i'm sure that would have been a good game.
