It is my understanding that Kyle Bennett has stepped down as the boys coach at Walton to become the AD at the school. Kyle is a great guy and I am sure he will do a great job. I have heard three names at this point from someone very close to the program, the favorite is Dan Trame who is currently the JV Girls coach, another possiblity would be Dan Sullivan but he would have to be willing to go back to the classroom and give up his asst. princ. job heard he is very interested but not sure the administration would make that move. Several people are very interested in trying to bring Steve Wright back from South Laurel. If I were a betting person I would put money on Danny Trame. Thoughts...

I agree. I think he has gained a lot of valuable knowledge the past few years that will help him be a GREAT one when he does get that opportunity.

I don't know much about Coach Trame. I don't see Sullivan stepping down from his Vice Principal gig. What grade is his eldest son now?

Walton never appreciated Coach Bennet. They criticized and criticized. His team always performed well in the All 'A and outside the All 'A' he made it to the regional tournament several times and beat top teams in the area. Walton fans always complained about him though.

 

I will say he may have underachieved with some of the teams that came through there.

I think he will be a Junior next year. I really think this is almost all but signed, Dan Trame will take the job. To be honest I think he was really the only one approached by the administration. A little off topic but I heard that they will be changing some regions around again soon and Scott County will be heading back to the 8th.

Well, that's not very good news for Walton. Scott Co. has pretty much played the role of stopping Walton's better teams in recent history. I'm not sold on Trame taking the job, just yet.

I would be glad to see Brad Sizemore get a chance. Admittedly, I think him leaving the SL program would be a loss to the Cards which may be good for the rest of the teams in the 13th...LOL. Seriously, I would love to see a young coach who has paid his dues get the chance to be a head coach. Wright's not going anywhere so Sizemore may be the next best thing for WV.

Dan Trame has been offered the WV job...it is only a matter if he wants it or not.

No offers thus far. Trame is your prime candidate. I'm sure there will be others contacting the school to apply. Expect a decision after the state tournament would be my guess.
