I think EC12 was refering to diaperdandy's post when he said Mike Terry is "one of if not the best in the 16th".

 

Terry is good. One of the top in the state. He has a lot of upside.

 

I just assumed everyone knew I meant freshman and not overall since the entire thread has been about freshman/sophomores. I guess we know what ASSuME gets you.

Knipp sounds like the big skinny tall kid from South Laurel a couple years back. What was his name? He went on to pitch in baseball at Morehead St. I havent seen Knipp play yet but would you say that is a fair comparison?

 

I think Timmy has more the skills of Elton Scott who was on the 1993 Marion County State Championship team and then was Mr. Basketball in 1994. I think Timmy's career path & long term success after High School will turn out much brighter than Mr. Scott's did. They were exactly the same size and built about the same way and their games were similar.

Doubtful...Pike is solid but the following TRUE freshman are all much bigger basketball prospects and better IMO:

I think there are several freshmen around the state that will become more noticed as they become sophs and juniors. Right now they are not used as much at the varsity level because their teams have excellent upper classmen. It will be interesting to see how things develop as some of these players get more playing time. I think Elijah Pittman wasn't really noticed until the state tournament last year when he was a sophomore.

Why the "TRUE" comment? Do you have birth certificates for all that you list?

 

Secondly, from what I've witnessed Zeke should be playing a lot more than he does. He's simply more talented than the other "bigs" on Dixie's current team.

He might be the most underrated great player from the class of 2011.

Not true. Too many people speculate when they don't know. There is no reason to hold Pike back because of sports. He has the size and everything else needed to be a top athlete if he were a sophomore right now. Very little sports advantage gained by him being a freshman, as evidenced by the fact that he is playing varsity anyway.

Seemed to work out in his dad's favor when he was held back in middle school. As far as I know, it wasn't for academic or social reasons. Big difference and a lot easier to get noticed when 19 year-old seniors are playing against 16 and 17-year old seniors.
