How good a job will this be? Their rising juniors and sophmores were among the worst middle school teams I've seen. They did have a very good quarterback who would be a rising freshman, is he going to play? Without him their incoming freshman class would be very average. The did have some big players in middle and maybe they could be much better high school players. I'd like to see this program get turned around.

Campbellsville should always be competitive in 1A. They have the talent to do it alone. Some years will obvioulsy be better than others, but they should be competitive every year.

 

I think they return a very good Senior class for the '09 season, but after that, it drops off A BUNCH. At least that is the word on the street. I don't think Campbellsville's middle school won a game this year.

 

What about the South Laurel job? Within or outside? What's their future look like?

You would be thinking about Mark Peach. He was the head coach of Campbellsville University not high school, after leaving Dunbar.

I am pretty sure it will be a hire from outside at South Laurel.

If they take as long as North Laurel did, the season might be started!

I would think this will be a pretty good job. They are in a winable district with a chance to compete. I would think SL will have to look for some stability in their next Coach.

 

Lets hope they don't take as long a NL did.

They have a tremendous freshman class coming in this fall, ... best I have seen at SL in several years. But it will be a few years before those kids contribute. Whomever gets the job has some solid young talent coming.
