9th Region Pairings

As a Holmes fan I will take this draw any day of the week, not saying anything bad about NCC, Ryle or Dixie, but whenever you can escape having to play Highlands and Boone it helps. I know NCC just beat Highlands and they are the higher seed but Highlands would have been as tough as a first round out as any. Boone in the finals will be a big one if they get there, but to be in that lower bracket and escape both of them early is a big relief. Not saying that Ryle in the first round or a potential match up with NCC or Dixie wont be games that Holmes could lose if they are not focused, just saying its not Highlands and Boone.

I got confirmation a bit earlier from our Athletic Office. The schools will NOT have tickets to sell. The BOK can let you know which section is the assigned section for your school.

We plan to get our tickets tomorrow after the kids get out of school.

GO DOGS!!!

This is whats coming to the BOKC:

Boone has the toughest path of any #1 seed. Holmes has the easiest.

I'd say Holmes has just as tough a road as Boone. They get Ryle in the first round, who is a very physical team that played the Dogs close throughout in their first match up (they also beat Boone's first round opponent)...and then they get a NCC team (most likely) in the semi's that just beat Highlands by 22 and is playing their best ball right now. NCC is one of the most dangerous teams in the tournament right now.

The only difference in the two draws is that Holmes has beaten all 3 teams in their bracket...Boone hasn't.

It is a blind draw so it is fair. But Boone Co got the tougher road between the top 2 teams.

I'd much rather play Highlands than NCC if I am the Dawgs. NCC has the unique ability to light it up from the outside which we have come to find out gives you the best chance of beating Holmes. Highlands can't do that and you can't tell me they have the athletes to compete with Holmes. I don't see why Holmes would be so worried about playing Highlands. Boone on the other hand I understand.

IMO Boone won't make it to the finals .

I think Boone will handle Beechwood, but if they have an off night and Beechwood has a stellar one, it's a possible upset. I still see Beechwood one and done though.

Holmes got a walk IMO. They should be able to easily make it to the region final and win. But just because they should doesn't mean they will..

How is Boone facing a tougher road?

I don't see how Holmes got a walk. NCC has to be considered #3 in the region right now (I think even Highlands supporters would agree with that). Ryle is probably #5 if you seed the region. As I said earlier, this region's matchup's are about as even as if it were seeded. No one got a walk. Everyone got about what they earned with their play this year.

To be truthful, :D I'd rather have our draw than Boone's

I think that Holmes got the easier road, but they better not look past NCC...IMO, if NCC is shooting as well as they did last night, they have a legit shot of getting past the Bulldogs.

I don't understand how Boone got a tougher draw.

Boone's first round opponent, Beechwood, lost to Holmes' first round opponent, Ryle.

Boone's probable semi final opponent, Highlands, lost to Holmes' probable semi final opponent, NCC twice.

Again, I'd say Boone got a much better draw. I much rather face Highlands in the semi's than NCC.

Highlands don't have the defense Holmes has. Score won't be close. :idunno:
