Highlands and Holmes make it to the championship game. Holmes runs away in the championship.

 

Highlands is a bad matchup for Boone. Highlands smacked them around pretty good in their meeting earlier this year.

 

I haven't seen Highlands so help me out. What does Highlands have that makes them a bad match up for Boone?

Highlands inside game really wore the Rebels out. Dill, Watson, and Grubbs made Mcfarland and Earls virtually non factors in the first meeting. Boone struggles with teams who have depth inside because Earls is really their only true post player, since Mcfarland is more of a Small forward. Boone historically seems to struggle with Highlands' physical defense as well.

That makes sense. I agree that teams with a strong inside game can give Boone problems. Boone really doesn't have a post player because Earls would rather not go there. Highlands could be a very interesting game for Boone, assuming both do the expected and win their openers.

I'd say Holmes has just as tough a road as Boone. They get Ryle in the first round, who is a very physical team that played the Dogs close throughout in their first match up (they also beat Boone's first round opponent)...and then they get a NCC team (most likely) in the semi's that just beat Highlands by 22 and is playing their best ball right now. NCC is one of the most dangerous teams in the tournament right now.

 

The only difference in the two draws is that Holmes has beaten all 3 teams in their bracket...Boone hasn't.

 

I agree with this because of their ability to hit the three ball... If they get hot like they did against Highlands they can beat anybody.

Holmes is IMO the best option to represent the 9th and bring home the big trophy from Rupp! If they go hard the dawgs could cruise thru the 9th

Will these games sell out ?I have never been to the new place and have no idea what it will hold.Are they going to clear the gym on Sunday?I see the game times are 2 and 8.Thanks

No chance of the arena selling out. It holds 9,500. I do not see any other games scheduled for Sunday afternoon, :confused: so unless you want to sit there with nothing to do for a few hours I'm guessing they will clear the Arena.

Saturday the 10th region opening rounds are there and for $12.00 you get 4 consecutive games.

If you have not been to the Bank of KY Center, let me just tell you it is a first class level arena. As good as any and better than most of the arenas you will see at a NCAA division one level, just a little smaller at 9,500 capacity. I believe the paper has the game times wrong. My understanding is the 9th region semi-finals are Sunday at 2 and 4. Then the 10th Region semi-finals are Sunday at 6 and 8. I believe they are emptying the arena between the 9th region session and the 10th region session but not between games.

The BOKC is very similar to an NBA arena...just smaller.

My thoughts.... first, this IS Holmes tourneyto lose. Quite honestly they are the best team and would represent best. I agree that they are likely the only one to get past a second round (Scott Co?) at Rupp (although Boone & HHS would win one) That being said, it is wide open otherwise. Trust this, if NCC shot/played that well again, they could be anyone.But for Breds fans, enjoy it, probably won't happen again. I agree that the HHS/Boone side is the more intriguing with these two in a possible rematch. I think there will be one first round upset but it will mostly play out according to rankings. Should be great to watch in the new arena ....!
