"Oh God"

Featured Replies

As Gov. Jindal prepares to give the Republican response to Obama's address, MSNBC host Chris Matthews was heard off camera muttering "Oh God."

The remark came after host Keith Olbermann paused the panel's discussion as Gov. Jindal was walking to the camera.

Matthews will explain his remark on "Hardball" tonight. Here is some of what he will say:

I was taken aback by that peculiar stagecraft, the walking from somewhere in the back of this narrow hall, this winding staircase looming there, the odd anti-bellum look of the scene. Was this some mimicking of a president walking along the state floor to the East Room?

Uh huh, glad there's no media bias.

I have to agree with you. I think Governor Jindal did a good job. He'll be a force in the Republican Party.

With 4 years to prepare someone Good should come out of this .:idunno:

Is anyone really surprised that the media is biased against any and every Republican that is in the public eye? Liberals control the network and cable news, print media, government funded radio "news". Now, with trying to pass the so-called Fairness Doctrine, they are trying to control talk radio. The folks that preach tolerance are the most intolerant people of all. If you get in the way of killing babies or allowing gays to marry, you are a bigot, homophobe, or any other adjective the left decides to throw your way. If you disagree with the left on any subject, then you are in the wrong. When will we wake up?

Those two I could get behind. Nothing with Palin in it for at least 8-12 years would probably be best considering the way the media tore her apart in the last election. She may well be a great star for the future of the Republican party, but gosh darnit she just needs to sound more intelligent next time she takes the spotlight and not so much like a soccermom.

I will borrow from Jon Stewart and say that he reminded me of "Mister Rogers." The republicans are really reaching with this one!

So you're judging him on his looks? :ohbrother:

I have to say... I wasn't blown away. I've heard him before and it was better. I don't think his first time having a message that was controlled by the national party went all that well. I'd like to see him try again before I'll make my judgements. Granted, this is solely based on the speech and not on his personal politics, which makes an entirely different opinion.

When I first heard about this, I kept waiting for something to be said after "Oh God" ... like something that would be disparaging toward Jindal.

There was nothing of the sort.

You guys will harp on anything ... just another example of the most biased people on the political spectrum claiming to be the arbiters of bias.

So you're judging him on his looks? :ohbrother:

His demeanor, presentation, speaking style, and what he said helped form my judgement.

Isn't the man supposed to be non-biased in his job? You will say anything to defend these things when it's about a Conservative it seems.

Why would you expect more? :idunno:

I never said there was anything more to begin with, and the "Oh God" comment surely wasn't meant as complimentary.

Oh, in other words, you mean the fact that he's a Republican.

Let me know where I can find the tolerant right.
