February 18, 200917 yr Big game Thurs. for Summit, if they win at Woodland, they win the regular season title? That is correct. If they beat Woodland at their place Thursday it will be a conference win for Summit. The boys looked great last night and will be hard to beat but, you can never take anything for granted. Last night's game was fun to watch. Both teams played well but Summit came out on top. :thumb:
February 19, 200917 yr Author Highlands 8th boys should assume they are the 3rd seed in the east and they will play the 6 seed in the West (Turkeyfoot?) on Sat morning at 10am at Twenhofel. The winner of that game will play most likely the 2 seed from the West (Twenhofel) on Monday night at 7pm.

West 1. SV 2. Twenhofel 3. Woodland 4. IHM 5. Blessed Sac 6. Turkeyfoot and 7. CC Gold East 1.Beechwood 2. Holmes 3. Highlands 4. Cc Purple 5. Newport 6. St. Pius 7. PC If it plays out this way I really like Highlands's side of the bracket. Their early loss to Twenhofel they were a completely different team. I still think Twenhofel is very good and deep but they didnt get 1/4 of what Highlands can bring that night.

February 20, 200917 yr Congrat's to Summit View. When does the tourament start? Should start on Saturday for all three grades. If my info is correct the 8th grade will play at Twenhoffle, 7th at Summit and 6th at Woodland. Good luck to all!
February 20, 200917 yr Twenhofel ended the regular season with a 20 pt win over Turkeyfoot. The bench really kept the Breds in the game. Great Job to the team as it was their 8th Grade night.

Very proud of this team, 34-0 in 6th, 24-4 in 7th? 18 - 1 regular season this year... Guessing on win losses for 7th. Hopefully we can keep it going and finish with a bang...:dancingpa

My heart wants the Birds to actually catch fire and win their 1st round game against the 6 seed, then knock off likely Twenhofel(2 seed) on their homecourt in the 2nd round and then defeat the Beechies(1 seed) who they handled by 12 earlier in the season. Then they would reach the finals and I think with the way that SV is playing they will be there from the other bracket. If the Birds play the impressive man-man full court pressure defense they have played the last 6 games they could do it. If this doesnt happen then I see maybe Twenhofel reaching the finals against SV and the Jags coming away victors. Beechwood is a very athletic team but IMO they can be beat by shutting down Nussbaum and keeping Dillon Smith in check. Holmes is athletic but if you change your normal gameplan and actually zone them like I am sure Beechwood did (in their 2 victories) then you can beat them. They really struggle with their outside shooting and they NEVER get back on defense because they are always trying to get steals in the backcourt for easy layups. Twenhofel is the deepest team but not necessarily the hottest team. SV has very good balance but they can get out of sync with selfish play at times and if their outside shooters are not being aggressive with taking the open shots then they may not take the crown. CC Purple is not going to be a cakewalk for anyone, trust me they play some nasty man-man defense but need to execute better. My Final Four prediction is going to be Highlands vs Beechwood in the upper bracket and SV vs. Holmes in the bottom. Highlands vs. SV in the finals. Birds take the crown. :banana: Sorry Im a homer.
