Have you ever been to Elliott Co.?

 

It's no worse than Carter, Morgan, Bath, Parts of Boyd, Parts of Rowan or Greenup. It's Eastern KY, it's pretty much all the same.

I'll take Ballard by 5.

I'm not a fan of either team but I have watched them both play . Should be a good game. I'll go with Elliott Co. by 6.:thumb:

 

I also would not take some of the 16th posters to serious, they have been put on the defensive by the big city posters who always bash the 16th region. Some of them do it just to get you guys riled up just as you have done in this thread.:idunno:

BigSpikes in a head to head match up Ballards competition they play during the course of the season will not be a factor. These kids from EC have played in to many big games throughout their young careers to let something as being battle tested bother them. The Faulkners especially will not be phased at all.

What this game comes down to is 3-4 things

1.Coaching

2.Elliott shooting

3.Ballards athletes

4.Timmy Knipp deciding to play hard the whole game & the big thing for him is staying out of fould trouble.

also - whether Ballard gets car sick or not, & the bus driver not running off the road.

I hope that Ballard's guard's are their strongest point because that being the case this should be a great shootout. Didn't see much inside game from the highlights, and that is one factor that troubled into Elliott's losses. I still don't think a 15 point win or nothing of that nature but I do feel very good about what Ballard emphasis on; Elliott has the best guards in the state. I think the Lions will win this one but you can't convince anyone of anything until you do it; so go gettem Lions!!!!! :dancingpa

I'm not even affiliated with Ballard and I'd be offended by your comment here. I doubt Ballard will suffer any culture shock. I doubt Ballard will be car sick. I doubt that Ballard will bring anything less than their "A" Game. If they win, I hope that there is some recognition of their talent by Elliott, and not a list of excuses. If they lose, I can assure you that Ballard will not use they excuses many of you have so kindly provided as apparently acceptable.

 

Dang! I'm a Trinity fan, and we've always had a sort of animosity toward Ballard, as a district foe. However, y'all have me rooting for Ballard like I've never thought I'd do. :lol:

I was offened as well and I'm anything but a city slicker. As for a culture shock, Elliott has a nice crowd and it will be loud, but do you honestly think no one else in state plays in that kind of environment? And IF Ballard wins, I would like to hear some congrats to their players as well.

Um... I am just not getting it. The "culture shock" issue isn't about the size of the crowd, the enviroment of the game or whatever else you think. It's a little different here than in Louisville. In fact, even the Mason Co. fans made comments about the roads and such.

 

I will be more than glad to give Ballard a "Great Job" if they win. Just like I did for SV, Ceader Hill, Anderson Co, West Carter, and Morgan Co. Those were all great games to watch (even though my Elliott team was outplayed in some of them).

I have no problem saying good job to a team that beats us. Shelby Valley beat us, and so did Cedar Hills. They were the better team that night and life goes on. And contrary to many peoples belief, we at Elliott County do not sit around blaming a loss on anything. This is being generated by Elliott-Bashers. We have only lost twice this year, so we cant give that many excuses. Not saying that to be arrogant, I just dont know why people are saying we are mad at others when we lose. I think many want to take things fans say the wrong way and make something out of nothing. Then when we respond we are un-sportsmans like fans. But anyways Ill get off my soap box. Its going to be a great game by two of the best in Ky and I will go with my Elliott County 81-78

How would you feel if Elliott County were traveling to Louisville to play Ballard and someone said Elliott County would have culture shock? You might have a point with the roads, although I've travelled through that area and didn't get sick. These kids aren't even going to be doing anything but playing a game there. I see where it has already been mentioned that this one will be televised in our (Ashland) area. I will pick Elliot to win by 7....it is at Elliot and I don't know if some of the Louisville people are ready for Sandy Hook.
