Like I said, I have never watched Ballard. I am just hoping your prediction is wrong.

Ballard winning by double digits in Sandy Hook. Only if Elliott shoots about 30% from the field and 15% from trey land which doesn't happen very often in Sandy Hook (probably never in the last few years). Even with a bad shooting game Ballard would only win by single digits.

Ballard highlights:

I have a feeling the speed and quickness of the Bruins, Cox and Chiles in particular, is really going to cause fits for the Lions.

I can promise you the boys from EC have played aganist plenty of people who are quicker than Cox and Chiles(and played aganist both of them more times than one). They know what they are up aganist.:thumb:

I think the speed and quickness thing will be a challenge, but one that the Elliott boys can handle. If I didn't see the "F" Troop do it all summer long it might be a bigger question in my mind as well. The Faulkner boys and Ferg did not significantly get out quicked all summer and I saw some really really quick cats out there on the AAU circuit.

Also I think the home court advantage will be huge for Elliott

I think Ballard will win because they are more battle tested to this point, they could have one of the tougher schedules in the state if they did nothing but play other LV area schools.

I'm impressed with the big victory over Mason, I was not expecting that. Elliott defends their home floor very well-I think they haven't lost since the Big 3's Sophomore year. I will not be surprised if either team wins and wins big; it is a toss up. But Ballard is more battle tested-and no that isn't a knock on Elliott, Ballard plays in a brutal part of the state in a Brutal region-and I'll take them by 4.

Ballard 84

Elliott 80

You bigtime city slickers are missing the real point. By the time Ballard adjusts to the culture shock of being in Sandy Hook, Elliott County will have a 20 point lead and the Bruins will never catch up.

If the state tournament were played at Sandy Hook instead of Lexington, Elliott County would probably win it.

I'm not even affiliated with Ballard and I'd be offended by your comment here. I doubt Ballard will suffer any culture shock. I doubt Ballard will be car sick. I doubt that Ballard will bring anything less than their "A" Game. If they win, I hope that there is some recognition of their talent by Elliott, and not a list of excuses. If they lose, I can assure you that Ballard will not use they excuses many of you have so kindly provided as apparently acceptable.

Dang! I'm a Trinity fan, and we've always had a sort of animosity toward Ballard, as a district foe. However, y'all have me rooting for Ballard like I've never thought I'd do.

I don't think there is anything for you or Eta to be offended by from the mentioned post. It seems to me the post was degrading Elliott County culture and transportation network. The post continues then to address the Elliott pride. I didn't see anything for you to become offended by??

I always root for Elliott... from there I look at the game. If a team plays hard and respectful--and another does not--then the choice is easy for me.

I don't let the action, comments, or opinions of others influence my decisions. I am an adult and I draw my conclusions from facts (and the game) .... not how posters on a message board portray themselves or the team that they represent... But that's just me.

Does anyone know what Ballard's size is like, will it be a factor? I haven't seen much of them this season.

The best player on the floor when these 2 teams meet IMO will be Wesley Cox. He can fill it up and is more athletic than anyone on Elliott Co's team. He is boarderline a top 5 senior IMO. Hes an excellent player.

I believe Ballard wins this one

Have you ever been to Elliott Co.?

That may be the case, but only about 500 people would see it.

That could possibly be an issue honestly. I doubt many Ballard players have spent time in the mountains going around curvey roads.
