Maybe, fans of other teams think these threads are hilarious. It's all in good fun though, these are probably the most popular threads on this site. Best of luck to both teams on Saturday, it should be a pretty good game.

This game ought to be a dandy! I'm looking forward to seeing what Elliott can do against a fellow contender for the State title. I will say it's going to be awfully tough to beat Elliott at home for any team. Since Ballard doesn't have a big edge inside I think that Elliott may pull this one out at home. I just hope both teams bring it and really put on a show since this will be on TV. I hope Elliott represents the 16th well, win or lose. I'm sure they will.

Unless Bigfoot or Jeepers Creepers are in the mountains. I really don't think Ballard will be scared.

Well if you're not talking about the atmosphere in the gym, I don't know what you're talking about. The city a game is played in has no bearing on the game. The long bus drive may have Ballard a little drowsy in the 1st quarter, but the city of Sandy Hook has no effect on how a team plays there. What are you implying about Elliott County and Sandy Hook anyways by saying it will be a culture shock? I'm sure Ballard has played against teams not in Louisville or Lexington before.

A person can be going down and up a hill, turn a corner and see their tail lights all in the same frame. Anyone that has not been there or not used to driving those roads are in for a ride.................. and then you get to the gym.:eek:

I dont think that the bus ride will have anything to do with the outcome of the game. I heard from a reliable source that Ballard is driving down Friday and staying the night at the Laurel Gorge Inn. They should have time to get over the car sickness some have mentioned. Good luck Elliott!!! If Elliott keeps from turning the ball over more than 10 times and the rebounds are close to even then I will take Elliott by 3-5 points. But my prediction is Ballard by 7 points

I was talking about the offensive remarks made in this thread. Some things said have been borderline racist in this thread. I'm not accusing anyone, but I was trying to see if that was what was being implied. I hope it's not, but things that have been said have had those kind of tones. I hope not, because whether you're a Ballard or Elliott fan saturday night the players on the floor are kids and do not deserve to be treated like that. Wouldn't it be enough to say that Elliott has a good crowd and it is a tough place to play for any team. All that I have wanted to know is what was meant by these statements. Maybe it was nothing, but without some sort of clarification it could be interpreted many ways. Honestly, I can take someone talking about their team but I cannot stand things of this sort.

That's silly, this is no place to make such comments. I have read all these post & they are just in good fun! All except maybe about getting sick on the roads as we all know that can happen & may just happent to a few. This comment is taking this to a whole differnt level & is simply not the place.

The EC kids have played in some big games: but how many have they won?

Also, Coach Renner from Ballard has coached in the State title game, Coach Mays has won one state tournament games.

 

Another thing, Ballard's tough schedule will help them in one aspect of the game: end of game experience when the game is on the line.

 

I do not see what puzzles you other than for some reason you are puzzled when someone has a legit point or counterpoint with your comments on EC. I wasn't arguing with you but for some reason you always think when this happens someone on here is arguing with you. Anyway I will make it a little more simple.

Coaching - IMO EC always starts each game with at least a 10-12 point deficit. In games like these even more. Throw in coaching during the course of the game & you obviously have to give it to Ballard & Coach Renner. Thank goodness for the Faulkners!

The roads will not have a affect on them at all but the crowd will play a factor in this game and IMO I think that we will take them out of their element. Ballard is a long drive so the Elliott county fans will be that much more forceful; only about 50-100 more but that's alot in a gym of 1,100 people. Ballard will not wear Elliott down; I have never seen a team do that yo Elliott and never will until they graduate. It is not so much as Elliott beating Ballard but if Ballard can beat Elliott because they have a lot stacked up against them.
