February 11, 200917 yr BCG recruited the best player that has been through Kentucky since at least 98'. Patterson is a better player than anyone that Tubby ever brought into Kentucky. After his recruiting skills make up for his lack of experience of coaching skills BCG will have a year or 2 where he is the coach of the year and final four here we come. I am not saying he is the greatest coach yet but he is a proven recruiter and when you have top notch players you will win. Players make up for coaching mistakes at an level.
February 11, 200917 yr I really like Billy G.. Me too. Cats will probably finish 21-10 or 22-9. I don't think too many people expected much more than that. A lot of folks got their hopes way to high when we started 5-0 in SEC play. Just because he doesn't coach the way some people on here seem to want him to doesn't make him wrong. Just exactly how many Division I coaches do we have on here anyway.

February 11, 200917 yr So, by what you say, you don't like Bob Knight who treated the reporters and other members of the media even worse than BCG does? BCG doesn't even come even close to the badgerings and such that came from Knight. You chose to pick one thing, when I mentioned two. I think Bobby Knight was a great coach and achieved a lot in his career, which gave him some reason to be arrogant. Billy G, IMO, had not achieved anything great in his career as of yet, and I still think he makes poor decisions often in ever game

Make no mistake about it, that guy acted the same way when he was losing in the NIT with Indiana the year after taking Army to an 11-13 record.

He is doing the same thing here, to a degree. UK is still and will always be a factor in the SEC. He is just doing some upgrading here and there and fine-tuning things is all.
February 11, 200917 yr He has revitalized two programs from basically nothing to competing in their respective conferences. Here is the flip side. How did he leave them???
February 11, 200917 yr Care to answer my question??? Is it true that he told his players he was taking the UK job threw text messages?
February 11, 200917 yr Here is the flip side. How did he leave them??? Texas A&M was pretty good last year. They had a lot of experience coming back plus Deandre Jordan.
February 11, 200917 yr I wish Coach Gillispie would not focus so much on the officials during the games and focus more on the game itself. He appears to really get under the skin of some SEC officials and I honestly think a couple of them cannot stand him.

Being able to reach to the officials and making sure they are making right calls is apart of the game itself.

Should Coach K stop whining to the officials too?
